Republicans think social media companies censor opposing political viewpoints

TwitterFacebook

I guess it’s easier than just admitting your tweets are bad.

A majority of Republicans surveyed by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center claim that the technology companies of the world are liberal, and, what’s more, that social media companies specifically censor opposing political viewpoints on their platforms.

In other words, Republicans believe they’re the victims of a vast Silicon Valley conspiracy that will do anything in its power to keep the lid on the Truth. Or something.

This, of course, is nonsense — but don’t tell that to the Republicans surveyed by Pew. The report, released today, quantifies the kind of conspiratorial thinking that gave rise to the likes of alt-right social media platforms such as Gab. And the picture those numbers paint isn’t pretty.  Read more…

We can guess how you vote based on the brands you like

TwitterFacebook

Forget immigration. Democrats and Republicans can’t even agree on where to get chicken nuggets (Wendy’s, duh).

A survey from Morning Consult published Thursday identified some of the most polarizing brands in America based on party affiliation. Brands that were once seen as studiously neutral have become explosively divisive. Even chain pizza, the last bipartisan cultural good in America, has found a way to step into the political ring.

It’s a tragedy for chain restaurant aficionados everywhere.

Morning Consult conducted 336,700 interviews over a period of three months. While survey results varied, Trump hotels was found to be the most divisive brand in America. Democrats and Republicans were much more likely to agree on hotly contested brands like NASCAR, which only has a 20 point spread, and Halliburton — the brand behind the Deepwater Horizon scandal — which has a 22 point spread. Despite what he chooses to do in his personal life, I’ll still be voting for Gormöth the Destroyer in the coming election

TwitterFacebook

Hello, fellow Republicans. As you all know, there’s been a lot in the news recently about a certain Senate candidate.

The Libs may try to shame you into voting for their party over ours, but do NOT let them. I am here to tell you that you are still perfectly within your right to vote for Gormöth the Destroyer.

First off, let me say that I completely condemn the actions that Gormöth the Destroyer has taken in his personal life. Since he was spawned from the Gate of Milnüür during the creation of humanity, he has spent the better part of an eternity curing existence itself with evil, immorality, death, and murder on a scale only achievable by his dreadfully immortal self.  Read more…
