This collapsible and foldable helmet could change bike safety as we know it

TwitterFacebook

When riding a bike, wearing a helmet is an important safety precaution, especially in a busy city or a suburban street. It’s like wearing a seatbelt in a car: you hope you never need it, but you sure are glad you have it strapped around you if you get into an accident.

But while cars come with seatbelts built in, a bike helmet is something you have to actively thinking about. They’re usually too big and bulky to bring with you all the time, which means that it’s all to easy to leave them at home.

Currently seeking funding on IndieGoGo, Brooklyn-based company Park & Diamond has created a collapsible bike helmet that’s stylish, ultra-portable, breathable, and reportedly safe. The helmet (which looks like a snazzy baseball cap) only weighs eight ounces and completely folds into itself, so it can be taken just about anywhere. It’s small enough to be carried inside of a reusable wide-mouth water bottle, a backpack, or a large purse, while the campaign page claims that the helmet is safe enough to prevent head trauma in an accident.  Read more…

Super Soaker who? The next generation of water guns is here on Kickstarter.

TwitterFacebook

Historically, water guns were small and simple, with a measly reservoir for ammunition. But in 1982, U.S. Air Force and NASA engineer Lonnie Johnson invented a new generation of water gun by combining an empty soda bottle, PVC pipe, and acrylic glass. After its release in 1990, the Super Soaker became one of the most popular and successful toys on the market. This has resulted in over $1 billion in sales since 1990 and has cemented Super Soaker’s spot as one of the most iconic and beloved toys of our modern era.

Jumper Threads claims their peppermint underwear will keep you fresh all day

Sometimes staying fresh is not so easy. During the summer days when it’s so hot and sticky outside that you automatically regret leaving your nicely air conditioned home, it’s common for your undergarments to become fused to your body.

Move over fidget spinners, there’s a new toy in town and it’s already breaking Guinness World Records

TwitterFacebook

Ever wish you had a little trick up your sleeve so you could impress people wherever you are? Looking to recreate that “wow” reaction you remember from when you were a kid and your elderly relative magically pulled a quarter out from behind your ear?

Well there’s a Kickstarter prototype called LIMBO that’s aiming to bring a whole lot of oohs and ahhs with a “magical” spinning top that seems to defy the laws of gravity.

For anyone who’s seen the movie Inception, you probably remember the spinning top Leonardo DiCaprio’s character used to determine whether or not he was in a dream. If the top never fell over, as a normal top would, it meant that he must be dreaming (because, you know, physics.)  Read more…

Can we all agree that this Kickstarter for an alarm clock that wakes you up by smell is awesome? Good.

TwitterFacebook

Sometimes, waking up is just the worst.

You’re in the middle of a nice and relaxing dream and then “bam!,” your pleasant rest is abruptly interrupted with the loud and piercing sounds of your alarm clock. It’s a terrifying way to start your day like that. However, one tech company wants waking up to be the best part of your day, instead of the worst, with a new Kickstarter campaign.

Paris-based Sensorwake created a new alarm clock called the “Trio” that eases you into waking up by slowly stimulating your sense of smell, sight, and hearing. This three-minute three-step process gradually wakes you up on the right side of the bed to invigorate you for the start of your day. Read more…

This Kickstarter project lets you experience the majesty of Earth in the palm of your hands

TwitterFacebook

Fun fact: We all live on this planet!

Although we call Earth our home, it’s shocking that we know so little about it. It would be like not knowing the ins-and-outs of your own apartment or house. But thanks to this new Kickstarter campaign, the tech company AstroReality wants to show everyone almost everything about this planet with an immersive model that is simply called EARTH.

The San Francisco-based company created a finely-molded model of the planet. The model includes deeply detailed versions of the oceans, landmass, and mountains with precision 3D printing from poly resin materials that was hand-painted with eco-friendly paint. Read more…

The BauBax travel jacket already made a splash on Kickstarter back in 2015. It reached its $20,000 goal in less than five hours and raised more than $9.2 million by the time the campaign had ended.

The jacket itself boasted over 15 different features, including a neck pillow, an eye mask, gloves, earphone holders, a built-in pen, and plenty of dedicated pockets to fit passports, drinks, and even a tablet. It’s hard to believe that a jacket like this could be made better, but that’s just what the BauBax 2.0 is setting out to do by seeking additional funding — where else — on Kickstarter. Read more…
