The Good

Slim and lightweight design • Strong Bluetooth connectivity • Battery door opens easily • Pro speaker is loud

The Bad

Smart Alerts • while in beta • don’t always work • Mate scratches easily

The Bottom Line

By adding user-replaceable batteries, Tile has made its Mate and Pro trackers even better, but pass on the subscription service, at least for now.

Fasten your seatbelt, because this is one wild ride.

There’s nothing we Brits love more than silly names for vehicles. Combine that with the excitement of live gritter tracking, and you’ve got yourself a social media hit.

Scotland’s gritters have risen to prominence thanks to a website that lets you track their movements, and people are loving their names.

Oh my. Gritters currently out on duty on Scotland’s trunk roads include:

Gritty Gritty Bang Bang
Sir Andy Flurry
Sir Salter Scott
Ready Spready Go
Ice Destroyer
Gritallica
