Apple finally allows third-party traffic apps in CarPlay

Apple’s driving app that connects your iPhone to your car’s infotainment system, CarPlay, has long frustrated users because it forces you to use Apple Maps.

For iPhone users who use Google Maps or Waze to navigate while driving, this was often a deal-breaker. One of Mashable’s own editors switched to Android just so she could use Waze for her Los Angeles commute in her new car. She’s not alone.

Google Maps on CarPlay is awesome. I use Android Auto for that reason alone.
