There’s an official new version of the ‘Pokémon’ theme song

The Pokémon theme song received a fresh new rendition for the latest movie, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, and the Pokémon Company teased it ahead of the movie’s debut in the West this past weekend.

The original Pokémon theme song, titled “Gotta Catch ’em All,” debuted with the first episode of the anime series in 1997, and has been given quite a few revisions over the years. But this I Choose You! version keeps it pretty close to the original.

 The full version of the new theme song can be heard in Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, which had a limited theater release in the West with the final showings happening Monday night. It’ll be coming out outside of theaters at a later date. Read more…
