Google Maps biz reviews can now include hashtags

Google Maps has quietly rolled out a new feature aimed at helping users discover places others have recommended: it now supports hashtags in reviews. After Trump lashes out, sexual assault survivors share #WhyIDidntReport

TwitterFacebook

Following days of *relatively* restrained behavior, President Trump unleashed an attack on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford Friday morning, accusing her of failing to report the alleged assault by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh when they were both teenagers.

Survivors on Twitter bristled at Trump’s tweetstorm. Using the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport, they explained their reasons for choosing not to report their own assaults.

“I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn  date, time, and place!” Trump wrote on Twitter. Read more…

Twitter can’t even celebrate Independence Day without misspelling the hashtag

TwitterFacebook

Nothing quite says “America in 2018” quite like celebrating Independence Day on Twitter with a misspelled trending hashtag.

Among those that have used the wrong hashtag on this patriotic holiday are the U.S. Air Force, the city of Boston, the Canadian Space Agency, and First Lady Melania Trump because of course.

Credit where it’s due: Melania at least caught the mistake and replaced the tweet with the correct spelling.
