If there is currently a light in this world, it is everything to do with Black Panther and our world’s collective thirst love for this castLupita Nyong’o loves her costars as much as anyone else – in fact, she may be winning as a fan on Instagram.

On Monday, after Chadwick Boseman’s Rolling Stone cover threatened to end us all, Nyong’o herself donned a black fur and statement necklace to recreate the cover.

Never lose a bet to Lupita Nyong’o. Just don’t do it.

Over the past week, Nyong’o has been getting maximum value out of a bet Michael B. Jordan apparently lost to her on the set of Black Panther — a bet which means he now has to do push-ups (up to a certain number, at least) whenever Nyong’o asks him to.

Well, the bad news is she’s almost out of pushups. But the good news is she’s really making the most of the ones she has left:

Lupita Nyong’o has managed to turn things up a notch at the Black Panther press tour thanks to… push-ups. 

It all started with an undisclosed bet that Michael B. Jordan (luckily) lost to his co-stars. His punishment? On-call push-ups. Whenever and wherever Nyong’o demands, the Erik Killmonger has to drop down and do push-ups. That’s right—Jordan ultimately loses, but we’re all winners here.  

And of course, it’s been happening in the most inconvenient place for Jordan, like on stage during a panel discussion about Black Panther that just so happened to be streaming live on Twitter.  Read more…

If you were unable to get Black Panther tickets for opening night because of the pre-sale records, find solace in the fact that you are not alone.  

Lupita Nyong’o, who happens to actually be in the film, didn’t either. On Wednesday, the actress posted a video that she had filmed on Tuesday about the insane Fandango ticket numbers in the first 24 hours of availability for tickets.

Photoshopped Lupita Nyong’o cover was a ‘monumental mistake’ says photographer

The photographer behind the photoshopped Grazia UK cover of Lupita Nyong’o has issued an apology saying it was “an incredibly monumental mistake”. 

In a statement, An Le took responsibility for altering Nyong’o’s hair, claiming the change “was not born out of any hate, but instead out of my own ignorance and insensitivity to the constant slighting of women of colour throughout the different media platforms”. 

“Though it was not my intention to hurt anyone, I can see now that altering the image of her hair was an unbelievably damaging and hurtful act,” Le said. Read more…

Lupita Nyong’o calls out UK magazine for photoshopping her hair

Lupita Nyong’o has called out Grazia UK for photoshopping her hair on the cover of its latest issue.

The 34-year-old Oscar winner expressed disappointment that the publication “edited out and smoothed my hair to fit a more Eurocentric notion of what beautiful hair looks like.”
