It’s been 30 years since the world met Roald Dahl’s pint-sized heroine Matilda Wormwood, and she’s marking three decades by defying yet another larger-than-life villain: President Donald Trump.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the October 1, 1988 publication of Dahl’s book Matilda, a temporary statue of the youngster facing down a cartoonish  Trump has been placed near Dahl’s home in Buckinghamshire, England, per the Telegraph.

The ‘Matilda’ challenge is here to spread a little magic through this dark world

TwitterFacebook

There have been many hashtag-based challenges that have swept social media over the years. The Harlem Shake. The Ice Bucket Challenge. That recent one where people hide behind a towel to confuse their dogs.

Well, forget all those for the time being, because there’s a new trend in town. It’s Matilda-themed, it involves magic and group participation, and it’s endorsed by none other than Mara Wilson herself.

Hahahahaha I LOVE THESE #MatildaChallenge
