Another all-electric SUV enters the scene — this time from Infiniti
The Infiniti QX Inspiration is only a concept car, but it’s a first for Infiniti – it’s an all-electric vehicle.
On Friday, the Japanese car maker gave a first look at the electric SUV that will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on Jan. 14. Last month Infiniti dropped some clues about the car, but now we know a bit more.
The Inspiration is a luxury vehicle, so it’s very much a Tesla Model X competitor. Few details were shared about its battery or capabilities, but it will be “high-performance” and feature a “spacious, lounge-like interior,” according to the company. Read more…

Available in “Software Version 9.0,” the update brings the ability for Teslas to automatically steer from on-ramp and off-ramp, change lanes, take exits, and navigate highway interchanges. Tesla has been removed from the National Transportation Safety Board’s investigation into a fatal crash of a Tesla Model X in the Bay Area.
The advisory group pulled the electric car maker from the investigation after Tesla continued to release information about the crash, including a post on the company blog confirming that the vehicle was in Autopilot mode. The NTSB said the removal was a rare move, but Tesla’s information releases “do not further transportation safety or serve the public interest.”
