Shut it down everyone, Billy Idol had the best tweet about the Royal Wedding

TwitterFacebook

You’d think if anyone had an obvious Royal Wedding joke lined up and ready to go, it’d be Billy “White Wedding” Idol.

Turns out what Idol had in mind was even better.

Like seemingly everyone else on Twitter, Idol logged on yesterday to share his thoughts about Harry and Meghan’s nuptials.

But what he didn’t say was even more noticeable than what he did.

Looks like a lovely day in UK for Harry and Meghan’s wedding #royalwedding

— Billy Idol (@BillyIdol) May 19, 2018

Yup, the dude went with “lovely day” instead of “nice day,” “Harry and Meghan’s wedding” instead of “a white wedding.” It’s so close to his famous lyric, but not quite, and that not-quite-ness drove Twitter absolutely nuts. Read more…

TwitterFacebook

For those of you who need some refreshing on the term, Mashable’s MJ Franklin defines the act of “Glowing Up” as “when you re-do your whole damn life for the better.” With that said, who, may I ask, has glown up better than Meghan Markle? Read more…

Bishop Michael Curry brought passion and fire to the Royal Wedding

TwitterFacebook

Sure, people attended and tuned into the Royal Wedding to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but while they were there they really fell in love with Bishop Michael Curry.

The Chicago bishop, whom Markle reportedly invited to speak at the ceremony, dropped serious knowledge about the power of love, ignited sparks of passion with a very long talk about fire, and even quoted Dr. Martin Luther King.

He became the first black presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in 2015, as BBC notes, and boy did he steal the show.

The people of England — many of whom were likely not accustomed to Bishop Curry’s contagious energy that’s common in places of worship in the United States — and those watching around the world, were loving his sermon. Read more…

The Royal Wedding was another perfect opportunity to troll Trump’s inauguration

TwitterFacebook

The Royal Wedding day was all about Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Donald Trump, of course.

As massive crowds showed up to celebrate the couple’s big day, many couldn’t help but notice that more people seemed to crowding the streets of the post-wedding carriage procession through Windsor than were present at Donald Trump’s 2017 Inauguration.

Trump’s inaugural crowd size has been a running joke on the internet ever since former Press Secretary Sean Spicer dubbed Trump’s turnout “The largest audience to ever witness an inauguration — period — both in person and around the globe.” Read more…
