Pinstriped is a service that’s built to make meetings more productive — and it’s on sale

TwitterFacebook

It is a truth universally acknowledged that everyone finds long meetings absolutely abhorrent. A supposedly brief meeting that has been stretched on for hours because your co-workers can’t stop babbling? That’s basically the bane of everyone’s existence.

An easy solution? Pinstriped Premium.

Designed to keep your meetings on course, Pinstriped helps you completely streamline the entire process. It lets you create a structured and timed agenda, and organize content in talking points, files, and links — all of which you can send to involved parties, so everyone comes to the meeting well-prepared. Should you agree upon decisions and action items while the meeting is ongoing, you can easily add them in the same file. And when the meeting has adjourned, you already have a readymade follow-up email you can send to everyone with just a single click. Read more…

Transform your productivity for less than $10 with this mind-mapping tool

TwitterFacebook

Sometimes it seems like the rigors of the modern workplace require our brains to be running at 110% capacity, 25 hours a day. In keeping up with such a hectic pace, it’s small wonder we even remember to eat lunch and use the bathroom, let alone take time for brainstorming new ideas. If you’ve ever wished you had Dumbledore’s Pensieve to organize your addled brainscape and extract the best ideas for later use, we’ve got good news and bad news.

The bad news is, the magic of Harry Potter’s wizarding world is, sadly, fictional, and thus there can be no such thing as a Pensieve. Sorry. But the good news: Scapple is very much a real thing. This (figuratively) magical mind-mapping software is really cool and it’s available now for 33% off. Read more…

Procrastination affects us all. According to a recent study by Voucher Cloud, an average employee only works about three hours out of the required eight — two hours and 53 minutes to be exact. The other five hours and seven minutes are wasted doing something else, like checking social media, ogling at non-work related websites, gossiping with colleagues, taking smoking breaks, and so on.

In other words, most people mess around instead of doing what they’re getting paid to do. Read more…

Microsoft’s new ‘Sets’ could be the best Windows feature in years

TwitterFacebook

Windows is about to get a serious productivity upgrade.

Microsoft is testing a new “Sets” feature that allows you to group multiple applications into the same window, similar to how you would organize tabs in a browser.

Microsoft is only teasing a very early preview of the feature for now — it’s rolling out to a small subset of Microsoft’s Insider program that seeds betas of new Windows versions to those who opt-in — but it’s already clear the feature will be a huge change.

While Windows 10 has had multitasking features like Task View baked in from the very beginning, these features have been more focused on making it easier to switch between applications. Sets promises to cut out many of the extra steps required by app switching by letting you group multiple apps in the same window. Read more…
