‘Roseanne’ has been canceled

Just like that, Roseanne is over. Again. 

The cancellation comes after Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet about Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. Barr eventually apologized and said she was leaving Twitter.

But her apology wasn’t enough to shield her from the consequences. Producer Wanda Sykes immediately announced she was leaving the show. (Co-showrunner Whitney Cummings had announced her exit days before, for unrelated reasons.)

Then, in a statement, ABC confirmed the cancellation and denounced Barr’s earlier comment as “abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values.” Read more…
