Roseanne Barr apologizes to Valerie Jarrett (kinda) before saying she needs a new haircut

TwitterFacebook

Following a racist tirade which resulted in the cancellation of her show, Roseanne Barr gave her first televised interview to Fox News.

Appearing on Hannity, the disgraced TV star explained the tweet regarding Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett was political rather than racist, and again stated that Barr thought Jarrett — who is of African-American descent — was white.

Explaining the Jarrett tweet, Barr said she was calling for “accountability” from the Obama administration over the Iran nuclear deal, given her views on Israel and her opposition to the country’s stance on LGBTQ rights and women. Read more…

‘Roseanne’ reruns pulled after racist tweet

Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet didn’t just get the Roseanne revival canceled. It got old Roseanne yanked from the TV schedule, too.

TheWrap reports that reruns of Roseanne will be removed from Viacom networks – Paramount Network, TV Land, and CMT – starting Wednesday. There’s no word yet on what will replace the programming.

Roseanne, which was revived earlier in 2018 after 21 years off the air, imploded this morning after Barr posted an offensive tweet about former White House advisor Valerie Jarrett.

Roseanne Conner wasn’t always a Trump supporter in the ‘Roseanne’ revival

TwitterFacebook

Roseanne Conner, of Roseanne, is a Donald Trump supporter. But that wasn’t always the case.

Co-executive producer Bruce Rasmussen, also a writer on the original series, revealed recently that TV Roseanne (not to be confused with IRL Roseanne Barr) started out as more of a lefty. It was Barr herself who pushed for her TV character to break for Trump.

“Originally I thought, like everybody else, that she would not be a supporter of Trump,” Rasmussen told EW. “But the moment we got in the writers’ room with Roseanne, she really wanted to be a supporter of Trump, not because she is one herself, but there are a lot of people in the Midwest who voted for him.” Read more…
