Joe Biden just welcomed a majorly cute addition to his family — a German shepherd named Major.

On Saturday, the former Vice President and his wife Jill officially adopted Major the rescue dog, who they’ve been fostering, from the Delaware Humane Association in Wilmington, Delaware.

“We are so happy to welcome Major to the Biden family, and we are grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their work in finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals,” the Bidens said in a statement that the shelter shared to Facebook. Read more…

Some good news: Doughnut the 28-pound cat has a new home

Move over Bruno: Another thicc cat’s found his happy home.

The enormous 28-pound cat’s name is Doughnut, and the internet fell in love with him on Friday when the Jacksonville Humane Society posted photos of him on Facebook

According to the original post showing off all of Doughnut’s curves, one requirement for his new home was “an owner who is willing to keep him on his strict diet.” They acknowledged that while many of us might like a chunky cat, it’s really not very healthy for Doughnut to be that overweight.  Read more…

18-year-old daughter asks stepdad to adopt her in the best Christmas gift ever

Some gifts are totally priceless.

Makayla Dabney, an 18-year-old from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, gave her dad the best Christmas present anyone could hope to receive.

She wraps it really, REALLY well. (In the video, it takes him about five minutes to get through all the boxes and wrapping paper! If you’re really impatient, skip ahead to about 5:30.) 

There’s a lot going on as she gives an emotional speech — the other kids playing around, with the excitement of Christmas.

But when her dad, Stephen Dabney, opens it, he’s moved to tears. It’s adoption papers — an amazing thank you to the man who has helped raise her since she was 5. Her mother said he “stepped up when he didn’t have to.” Read more…
