Donald Glover opens up about the touching full-circle ‘Star Wars’ moment he shared with his son

Solo: A Star Wars Story is about to hit theaters, and its stars — Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) and Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) — have been making the rounds promoting the film.

The two stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode that aired May 21 to share a bit about the audition process, meeting with their character’s predecessors, and how full-circle this moment really is for them.

In addition to sharing how many times each had to audition (7 for Glover, 6 for Ehrenreich), Glover opened up about how his first toy as a child was the Calrissian action figure — and how now his son plays with the action figure of Glover and understands that it’s his dad.  Read more…

New Han Solo meets original Han Solo when Harrison Ford crashes interview

TwitterFacebook

The original Han Solo gets to crash whatever interview he wants.

Alden Ehrenreich, the titular star of Solo: A Star Wars Story, was in the middle of an interview with Entertainment Tonight when a door opened behind Ehrenreich and in walked the OG Solo himself, Harrison Ford, along with Solo director Ron Howard.

“You’re shitting me,” Ehrenreich said after he saw Ford, in a clip ET shared on Twitter.

The only thing better than one Han Solo is two. ❤️ Harrison Ford dropped by @CameronMathison‘s interview and surprised #SoloAStarWarsStory star Alden Ehrenreich! The full interview will be on https://t.co/issuFApt4j tomorrow. 🙌 pic.twitter.com/5hy4GoZrhg

We just saw the ‘Solo’ trailer, and we need to talk about Lando

TwitterFacebook

If nothing else, Star Wars’ Han Solo standalone movie will promise us some quality time with Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). Preliminary reactions to the first trailer were tempered – after last year’s director shakeup, Star Wars fans aren’t sure what to expect from Solo: A Star Wars Story (starring Alden Ehrenreich as the titular scoundrel).

Fans posted reactions to Twitter after the trailer dropped and Lando is already out here stealing hearts.

I said it once and I’ll say it again: Donald Glover as Lando is just perfect casting#HanSolo #Solo pic.twitter.com/b9fUvpJQ2X

‘Solo’ Super Bowl teaser shows Han joining the Empire. Or does it?

TwitterFacebook

Han Solo likes to avoid any imperial entanglements … except for that time he nearly joined the Empire.

That’s the main thing we learned from the Super Bowl teaser for Solo: A Star Wars Story, which dropped during the game’s first quarter Sunday.

The 45-second spot was technically a teaser for a longer trailer set to land Monday — and as such, it went heavy on aesthetic, and light on plot and dialogue.

Young Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, doesn’t even get to answer a question about his name; the movie’s logo does that for him. He simply looks at the viewer through the bars of what is presumably an Imperial holding cell.  Read more…
