Local police lip sync to ‘Uptown Funk’ on their lunch break

Gotta love a lip sync, especially a one-take-wonder by your local police station.

A video of police officers from Norfolk, Virginia, lip syncing and dancing through their station to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” has gone viral, clocking up 25 million views in two days.

Around 40 officers, who were challenged by Texas’ Corinth Police Department, took part over their lunchtime, reports local newspaper The Virginian-Pilot. Corinth had already thrown down Miley Cyrus’ ‘”Party in the U.S.A.”

Even Norfolk’s bomb squad and fire service get involved. Now, they’ve challenged Seattle Police Department, Norfolk Constabulary, Virginia Beach Police Department, and St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.  Read more…

Facebook rolls out lip-syncing feature that’s a lot like Musical.ly

Facebook “borrowed” a lot of features from Snapchat. Now it’s doing the same thing with another app that’s popular with the kids.

The social network is launching a new feature called Lip Sync Live, which will essentially be a direct competitor to existing lip-syncing platforms like Musical.ly.

Testing in select markets, the feature is part of Facebook’s strategy to make music a bigger part of its platforms. The company says “hundreds” of songs will be immediately available, including those by Camilla Cabero, Guns N’ Roses, Drake, and Ed Sheeran, but the library will grow. Read more…

Literal rash bin shows off raw talent lip syncing to The Smiths

Lip Sync Battle needs to sign this contestant up immediately.

Ben Boyer (@sleezsisters) was driving Tuesday and listening to The Smiths. That’s when he caught sight of a trash bin, hitching a ride in the back of someone’s truck, which seemed desperate to take part in the musical day. 

Quick, someone give this trash a record deal.
