YouTube temporarily cuts Logan Paul off from ad revenue

Logan Paul is back on YouTube in typically repulsive fashion — but it appears that the streaming service is not amused.

Early Friday morning, YouTube announced on Twitter it would “temporarily” cut Logan Paul off from video ad revenue.

In response to Logan Paul’s recent pattern of behavior, we’ve temporarily suspended ads on his channels.

Logan Paul took a month-long “break” from YouTube following backlash to his posting footage of a suicide victim in Japan’s Aokigahara “suicide forest.” After widespread anger and controversy, Paul expressed remorse, donated money to suicide prevention, and temporarily became a prominent spokesperson for mental health. YouTube tweets ‘open letter’ about Logan Paul’s suicide video

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, YouTube condemned the disturbing suicide video shared by Logan Paul. 

The YouTube star, who currently has more than 15 million subscribers, shared a video on New Year’s Day of a dead body he found in Japan’s Aokigahara forest, known for the suicides that take place there.

Afterwards, YouTube was criticized by many — including Mashable — for not doing more to prevent these kinds of videos from appearing on the platform.
