This year’s Miss America pageant crown went to Miss New York, but Miss Michigan 2018, Emily Sioma, made a splash of her own. 

During introductions, Emily Sioma approached the mic confidently and used her moment to bring awareness to the water crisis happening within her state.

Miss America will scrap the swimsuit portion, devastating the bro community

Miss America, America’s favorite shitshow of a competition, has decided to make a radical change.

Gretchen Carlson, Former Fox News host and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Miss America Organization, announced Tuesday on Good Morning America that Miss America would be eliminating the swimsuit portion and dropping the pageantry aspect.

Carlson says the “competition,” as they’re calling it moving forward, will be less focused on beauty, and more focused on what the contestants actually bring to the table, intellectually.
