Woman in viral photo flipping off Trump’s motorcade told her employer and got fired

Juli Briskman did what a lot of folks have undoubtedly imagined themselves doing.

She was biking in Sterling, Virginia, on Oct. 28, as President Donald Trump’s motorcade whisked past her, driving away from one of his golf courses. As the black SUVs rolled by, she raised her left arm and extended her middle finger.

The photo went everywhere so fast that, according to HuffPost, she decided to tell the human resources department at Akima LLC, where she worked as a marketing specialist.

Her employer wasn’t too happy about the photo, and they fired her.  Read more…

George H.W. Bush on Donald Trump: ‘I don’t like him.’

TwitterFacebook

There ain’t no shade like ex-U.S. president shade, because ex-U.S. president shade comes from someone who was literally a leader of the free world.

Today’s shade-thrower is George H.W. Bush. The first President Bush pulls no punches in his frank take on Donald Trump. The detail, in the form of a direct quote, comes from author John Updegrove’s upcoming book, The Last Republicans, which explores the father-son relationship between the father-son ex-Presidents Bush.

“I don’t like him,” the senior Bush said in Updegrove’s book, out Nov. 14. “I don’t know much about him, but I know he’s a blowhard. And I’m not too excited about him being a leader.” Read more…

Chickens, X-Men, a moose head: Yes, these are the contents of Osama bin Laden’s devices

TwitterFacebook

One very real, contemporary way for people to know who we are long after we’re dead? By looking at the inner-contents of our electronics. And while the world knows Osama bin Laden as a ruthless terrorist responsible for legions of senseless deaths, what we didn’t know was just how downright pedestrian the data he was surrounded by in private actually was — until now.

A new Twitter account, @AbbottabadImage, is tweeting images found on devices at the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where Osama bin Laden was killed by Untied States soldiers in 2011.  Read more…

TwitterFacebook

Some heroes wear capes.

Some heroes work in Twitter customer support.

Donald Trump’s Twitter account went down for 11 glorious minutes on Thursday, and the internet went absolutely crazy.

It turns out this wasn’t some accident. Some brave employee deactivated the account on their last day.

Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal reviewhttps://t.co/mlarOgiaRF

TwitterFacebook

For a few brief moments on Thursday, Donald Trump’s Twitter account was down. The Earth seemed to spin a little slower. Things got quieter, and tensions eased.

The account was back up in a matter of minutes, but for those few moments, all was right in the world. It does not appear as if the account was suspended.
