Claire has enemies everywhere in final ‘House of Cards’ trailer

TwitterFacebook

We know better than anyone – the first female U.S. President will have a mighty task proving herself. Claire Underwood faces an onslaught of skepticism and enmity as she ascends the highest office in the land on House of Cards, and the final trailer for Season 6 shows her inspiring fear among those who oppose her.

Claire (Robin Wright) takes over for her late husband Frank (Kevin Spacey, fired for allegations of sexual assault and misconduct), only to be immediately faced with doubts from pundits and the public about her “ability to lead” (and no doubt her temperament, emotional stability, and more). But the greatest mistake her enemies make – as the trailer notes – is underestimating her. Read more…

New ‘House of Cards’ trailer introduces powerful President Claire Underwood

TwitterFacebook

“The reign of the middle-aged white man is over,” declares Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) in the new trailer for House of Cards Season 6.

The trailer sets up a brave new world; Claire has been in office for 100 days, her husband is dead, and now everyone on the show is facing the consequences of whatever lies Kevin Spacey Frank Underwood may have told.

After everything she’s been through, Claire refuses to be pushed around. We already know her to be a formidable ally and enemy on Capitol Hill, but with no Frank attached to her, enemies view her as a loose cannon – and, more frightening still, a powerful woman. Read more…

The poster for the final season of ‘House of Cards’ has lots of blood

TwitterFacebook

For Robin Wright, longtime star of Netflix’s House of Cards remake, the show’s sixth and final season is #MyTurn.

A tweet announcing the Nov. 2 premiere date — timely, just a few short days before Election Day — also features a grim, new poster and a wholly appropriate hashtag: #MyTurn. In Season 6, Wright steps into the show’s lead role — and the Oval Office — after her disgraced former co-star Kevin Spacey was ousted from the series.

Firing Kevin Spacey reportedly cost Netflix a whopping $39 million

TwitterFacebook

Netflix reported a loss of $39 million last quarter — and it looks like it can thank Kevin Spacey for the bill.

The company announced the Q4 loss on Monday, citing “unexpected” costs due to “unreleased content.” Chief Financial Officer David Wells gave another hint at the source of the revenue loss, saying it was, “related to the societal reset around sexual harassment.” No one named names, but  an unnamed CNN source confirmed the cause was “axed Kevin Spacey projects.”

Following reports that Spacey had sexually harassed and assaulted employees on the set of House of Cards in November, the streaming service announced it was severing ties with the actor. Production on the sixth season of the show was temporarily suspended, resuming after Netflix announced the final season would continue without its leading star. Read more…
