Hater, the dating app that matches people based on their mutual dislikes, revealed just how divided generations are on certain hot-topic issues in the world of dating. The data is split by user age — from age 15 to 40 — to clearly illustrate the difference of opinion across generations.

Here’s why you don’t buy your dad a Bluetooth microphone

There are certain universal qualities found in dads everywhere. One of them, it seems, is going out of their way to embarrass their significant others.

Marie (@MarieAnnMcfly) shared a sweet moment on Monday of her father serenading her mother with a Bluetooth microphone he received as a gift. As the dad croons “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers, the mom remains stoic—even correcting his pacing at one point. 

In true dad fashion, however, he continues to sing, unfazed.

Has texting killed romance?

It’s taken a quarter century, but texting has finally killed romance dead. 

Yesterday marked 25 years since the first text message was sent, and in that time it’s changed so much about the way we date. It’s made us more available, more casual, and infinitely more #sextable. 

It’s not that romance was perfect before texting came along. It was agonizing in its own way to have to call someone on a — *gasp* — landline. And perhaps even more dramatic was the scene where you parked yourself next to the phone, hesitating even to get up to go the bathroom, lest you miss that all-important call from your crush.  Read more…
