An Australian suburb was the hottest place on Earth yesterday

TwitterFacebook

The suburb of Penrith in Sydney, Australia isn’t a hot destination for tourists, but it was a searing place — temperature wise at least — on Sunday.

Penrith hit a 80-year high with temps of 47.3 degrees Celsius (117.14 degrees Fahrenheit) at 3:25 p.m., just shy of missing the area’s record high set in 1939.

It’s a far different situation to the “stupid-level cold” the U.S. is experiencing, thanks to the bomb cyclone wreaking havoc along the country’s eastern seaboard.

#SydneyHeat: Sorry, in our earlier checks we missed a 47.8 degrees C temperature recorded at an old #Richmond station (now closed) in 1939. 47.3 today still beats the previous #Penrith record.

Drake threatens dude who was inappropriately touching women at a concert

TwitterFacebook

Let it be known: the Six god is not here for your disrespect of women anywhere and anytime.

While in Sydney performing at a nightclub this week, Drake spotted a fan apparently groping women in the audience and put a stop to it immediately.

In the middle of an energetic performance of “Know Yourself,” Drake stopped the Australian crowd from continuing the hook of the song and called out a specific person in the audience.

“If you don’t stop touching girls, I will come out there and fuck you up,” Drake emphatically declared at the fan, his finger pointing.  Read more…

Bees invade a motorbike and it’s truly unbeelievable. (Sorry.)

TwitterFacebook

These bees just found a sweet ride and it’s driving straight into our nightmares.

Castlereagh Street in Sydney, Australia was swarmed with bees after the queen bee decided to create her own beehive on a red motorbike. A cloud of bees invaded the streets and looked like a scene out of the 1978 horror flick The Swarm

Soooo when’s the next ticket out of Sydney?

Smart kid sells place in the iPhone X line on Instagram

TwitterFacebook

If you’re going to line up for the iPhone X, why not make some money out of it?

Sydney kid Lee Cselko took advantage of the highly awaited smartphone’s expectedly long launch queues to save two spots in the line for Friday’s release date, reports Daily Mail.

Posting on Instagram, Cselko was selling the place next to him in the queue, spot number 25.

“Selling this spot in line for the iPhone X,” he wrote on a whiteboard, and posted to Instagram — with his phone number, a rather risky thing to post to the internet.

According to the Daily Mail, Cselko landed $500 for the spot, not bad for bringing an extra chair. Read more…
