Mindy Kaling weighs in on where her ‘Office’ character would be now

It hasn’t been that long since fans said goodbye to The Office, but it’s been long enough to make us wonder where the characters are now (and not-so-secretly hope for a revival). In a new interview with Variety, Office alum Mindy Kaling discussed where she thinks Kelly Kapoor would be now and how she feels about an Office 

“There’s not an insignificant part of me that thinks that Kelly might be in jail; a crime of passion,” Kaling said in a video. “The character just kept getting a little bit more and more unhinged. I don’t want to say that she murdered Ryan but like I’m also not convinced that he’s still alive in the world of The Office.” Read more…

Recording Academy president tells women to ‘step up’ in music industry hmmm

Keen-eyed viewers may have noticed that only one woman won a major Grammy Award on Sunday, but don’t blame systemic sexism or centuries of gender bias! Recording Academy president Neil Portnow told Variety that women need “step up” in all aspects of the music industry because “I think they would be welcome.”

Oh, OK!

“I don’t have personal experience of those kinds of brick walls that you face but I think it’s upon us — us as an industry — to make the welcome mat very obvious, breeding opportunities for all people who want to be creative and paying it forward and creating that next generation of artists,” said Portnow, a man. ‘One Tree Hill’ women accuses former show runner of sexual harassment, pen powerful group letter

In an open letter published on Variety, the cast and crew of One Tree Hill Monday night have chosen to take a stand and collectively accuse show runner Mark Schwahn of sexual harassment, following OTH writer Audrey Wauchope‘s remarks from this past weekend.

18 women united against Schwahn in the letter – that’s 12 actresses and six writers, including stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton. 

“Many of us were, to varying degrees, manipulated psychologically and emotionally,” the letter reads. “More than one of us is still in treatment for post-traumatic stress. Many of us were put in uncomfortable positions and had to swiftly learn to fight back, sometimes physically, because it was made clear to us that the supervisors in the room were not the protectors they were supposed to be.” Read more…
