Let the good vibes roll: Mashable House at SXSW 2018

TwitterFacebook

During SXSW, thousands of creatives and techies alike descend onto Austin, Texas in search of the best way to induce FOMO in their friends back at home. In 2018, this meant saying they were in the room when Elon Musk crashed the Westworld panel. Or perhaps it was sharing out that GIF of Elon Musk doing, whatever it is he was doing…

But when one was looking to break from all that, they ventured over to the Mashable House, where the only things necessary for a good time were ballpits, arcade games, and puppies.

While much of SXSW looks toward “what’s coming next,” this year’s Mashable House invited guests to celebrate just how far we’ve come with a mix of the old, new and modern! Read more…

Grandma discovers Uber Eats and immediately takes it too far

TwitterFacebook

Sometimes technology is a burden, and sometimes it’s a boon. In the case of Uber Eats, one grandma thinks it’s a blessing from heaven.

Twitter user @decentbirthday introduced his grandma to Uber Eats with an order from Wendy’s over the weekend. She was so amazed by the lovely convenience, she had to have it twice in less than 24

I ordered Uber Eats for my Grandma to try, and not even a day later she’s taken control pic.twitter.com/ji66hKT9Lm

Wendy’s just dropped a mixtape and it’s actually pretty good

TwitterFacebook

Brands will be brands. Or, in other words there will always be corny content, promotions piggybacking on social issues, and cringe-worthy tweets from major corporations trying to capture the attention of millennial minds online.

Yeah, you read that right. The weirdest part though is that it’s actually not bad

This isn’t the first musical endeavor from a food company. Hamburger Helper released Watch the Stove on Soundcloud two years ago. In a similar vein, Wendy’s entire project, We Beefin?, clocks in at 10 minutes total—a major departure from the incredibly long hip-hop albums that seem to be all the rage these days. With only five songs, that’s already a big +1 in my book.  Read more…

Wendy’s hits McDonald’s with sick burn after Black Friday Twitter fail

Black Friday: McDonald’s isn’t lovin’ it. In fact, they just got served — by another hamburger chain.

If you missed the drama on Thursday, the person who runs the McDonald’s Twitter account made a very public mistake.

The next day, one of the company’s rivals decided to go for the jugular.

When the tweets are as broken as the ice cream machinehttps://t.co/esdndK1iFm

— Wendy’s (@Wendys) November 24, 2017

Cold. Blooded. Like a French fry dipped in a creamy Frosty. Back in 2015, complaints about broken McDonald’s ice cream machines were so common, they became a meme. Some dissatisfied customer even made an app to keep track of which machines were actually working.  Read more…
