MTV debuted its ‘Jersey Shore’ spinoff, and fans were like “Gym, Tan, HELL NO”

Try as hard as MTV might, there is only one Jersey Shore.

The infamous reality show, which ran from 2009 to 2012, followed a group of strangers who live together in a house in New Jersey’s Seaside Heights. Over the years, Jersey Shore captured the hearts of boardwalk lovers, delivered heavy doses of drama, and turned “GTL” (gym, tan, laundry) into a life motto.

It was so popular, in fact, that MTV recently tried to replicate the phenomenon by creating Floribama Shore — a followup series starring eight young adults spending the summer together in Florida’s Panama City Beach.
