Never before has a tiny talking tree been so divisive.

Ever since Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn tweeted back in February that the first Groot “is dead”, Twitter has been in a frenzy. And things only got worse when Gunn tweeted even more (spoilery) Groot details off the back of Avengers: Infinity War on Sunday night.

Well, it’s time to end the debate once and for all. On Monday, botanist James Wong posted the following, impressively scientific breakdown of exactly how Groot biology works…
