Cadbury Creme Eggs are good, don’t @ me

TwitterFacebook

There is a certain kind of candy we’ve been taught to hate, even though most of us — the silent majority — desire it deeply in our bones.

Year after year, I’ve witnessed an exhausting parade of Cadbury Creme Egg takedowns, but I’ve been terrified to voice my support for the candy and lose the three bots who follow me on Twitter. I can’t tell anyone I know that I’m in love with the most stigmatized candy in America.

I don’t deserve this. More importantly, Cadbury Creme Eggs don’t deserve this. Fellow egg acolytes, let’s lift the yoke of our self-stigma and embrace our love for this majestic fondant creation. Why should we betray our nature?  Read more…

These Brutalist-inspired desserts are almost too elegant to eat

TwitterFacebook

Some treats should really go into an art gallery instead of your mouth.

Like these Brutalist-inspired delights by Danish designer and goldsmith Kia Utzon-Frank, which look like they’ve been chipped from the side of a concrete skyscraper.

Inspired by the modernist architecture prominent from the ’50s to the ’70s, KUFstudios founder Utzon-Frank created an elegant collection of flødeboller — a kind of Danish treat consisting of Italian meringue on a wafer or almond paste base covered in chocolate.

So. Pretty.

So. Pretty.

How to worm your way into Trump’s inner circle (Hint: Red and pink Starbursts)

People have strong feelings when it comes to Starbursts flavors. For President Donald Trump, his preferences are red and pink.
When a politician learned of this particular quirk, he used it to his advantage to woo the president. If you’re looking to …

PSA: Australian-style licorice is the licorice you should be eating

TwitterFacebook

My fellow Americans, Twizzlers are bad.

So is Good & Plenty. So are Red Vines (and not just because of “Cat Person”). And at the end of the day, this country’s licorice pickings are relatively slim, especially if you’re not necessarily a fan of black licorice. (If you are a black licorice purist and think all other licorice is “fake” or whatever, this is not the article for you.)

And that is precisely why you must opt for Australian-style licorice, preferably from the brand Darrell Lea — although any brand is better than Red Vines. Read more…

Nothing gets in the way of LeBron James finding candy for his daughter

TwitterFacebook

Regardless of your GOAT status, sometimes you just have to listen to the three year-old in your life.

LeBron James learned this on Thursday during a break amidst the Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Chicago Bulls. James, who happened to be mic’d up, spotted his daughter on the sidelines asking for candy and quickly obliged.

@kingjames mic’d up… daddy duties continue mid game! #ThisIsWhyWePlay

Born-rich person Donald Trump Jr. uses his kid’s Halloween candy to talk about socialism

TwitterFacebook

Very rich person Donald Trump Jr., who inherited his wealth from his father, would like to make a point about socialism. To do it he’s going to use his innocent child, Chloe.

The president’s son tweeted a photo of his daughter Chloe looking sad on Tuesday holding up a bucket filled with Halloween candy. “I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism,” he wrote.

OK.
