Carrie Fisher gets exactly the kind of eulogy you’d expect from ‘Family Guy’

TwitterFacebook

The world lost Carrie Fisher almost two years ago, and on Sunday night Family Guy used the approaching anniversary of her death to finally lay Angela, the character she voiced, to rest.

It’s not the most touching set of parting words you’ll ever hear, but this is also Family Guy. That Peter Griffin’s eulogy for his former boss — Fisher played Peter’s boss at the Pawtucket Brewery, appearing in 25 episodes since 2005 — manages to avoid being overtly offensive is an achievement unto itself.

Peter’s goodbye is mostly comprised of weird, tangential references to TV show theme songs. There’s one genuinely touching bit right at the end, though: “I may have lost a boss, but heaven has gained a princess.” Read more…

Carrie Fisher went off script and called Sharon Horgan a c*** while filming ‘Catastrophe’

TwitterFacebook

Of this much, I’m sure: Carrie Fisher was nothing short of a legend.

That’s why it was of little surprise to learn that she was a bit of a rule-breaker during her time filming Catastrophe

Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney — who both write and star in the series — told Mashable during an exclusive screening of Season Four that they were protective over the final script and didn’t allow cast members to improvise any lines. Except, of course, for Carrie Fisher.

Delaney said that Fisher would “improvise ferociously.” “It was scary at first but then we knew to prepare for it,” he said.

Horgan revealed what happened during the first scene she and Fisher ever filmed together.  Read more…

Leia’s still loved and some like it Hoth: What we learned this May the 4th

May the Fourth, for many fans, isn’t the one true Star Wars Day. May 25, the franchise’s birthday (and this year, the day Solo flies into theaters) is a better candidate for that.
