This Banksy-themed costume just hands down won Halloween

TwitterFacebook

Nowadays, the top prize for a Halloween costume competition doesn’t necessarily go to the scariest creation. It often goes to the most inventive.

Or, in this case, the most inventively topical.

“My friend needed a list minute Halloween costume,” wrote Reddit user u/MrRicardo in Reddit’s r/pics sub. “I think I delivered!”

We think it’s fair to say they did indeed deliver:

65,000 upvotes on that creation and counting.

Banksy would surely be proud.

15 political Halloween costumes that aren’t Donald Trump

TwitterFacebook

On behalf of tired Americans across the country, I am begging you, please do not wear a mask of Donald Trump’s face as a Halloween costume this year. You know the ones.

With all the seemingly endless, unhinged madness that’s taken place over the past two years, it makes sense why you’d want to wear to political costume. But we promise you can do better.

Aside from being truly creepy, Donald Trump masks are too easy. They’re cop outs. So to help you step up your Halloween game we’ve compiled a list of creative, politically relevant ensembles for you to choose from — none of which are the president!  Read more…

10 meme Halloween costumes for people who spend too much time online

TwitterFacebook

When you finally log off and head to a Halloween party this October 31, you’ll want to let everyone know where you’ve spent the past 364 days: online.

Luckily, while 2018 hasn’t given us much in the way of good news, the meme harvest has been bountiful. And a lot of them translate nicely into Halloween costumes.

Here are a few of the best — and, more importantly, the easiest to pull off.

1. Mason Ramsey

The Walmart yodel kid is a superstar now, but the getup he wore for his aisle rendition of Hank Williams’s “Lovesick Blues” would still make a great costume. You’ll just need a white button-down, a red bow tie, a statement belt, and, of course, a pair of cowboy boots. Just be prepared for someone to request a song. Read more…

Next time someone annoys you on Tinder, rock this Halloween ‘ghosted’ costume

TwitterFacebook

Ghosts are everywhere — in haunted houses and on our most popular dating apps.

That’s why Party City has developed an adult ghosting costume for women. Plenty of women have encountered someone who just won’t stop bothering them on dating apps or over text.

Might as well “ghost” them in real life.

The costume is now available for $24.99 on the Party City website. As of now, there is only a women’s costume.

“If someone’s blowing up your phone, ghost them in a Ghosted Costume for women!” the Party City description reads. “The costume is a hooded white dress designed to look like a ghost with a series of unanswered texts on the front.” Read more…

This guy leaves fake costumes in Halloween stores and it’s amazingly awkward

TwitterFacebook

Another year, another bunch of weird Halloween outfits — but none quite like this.

Forget your “sexy” fake news costumes and your various examples of outfits based on popular memes — this year it’s all about the “Absent Father” (complete with “the pack of cigarettes he went out for”) and “Milkshake Duck”.

The costumes in question come courtesy of comedian Jeff Wysaski. Over on his obviousplant Instagram account he’s started a trend of creating fake Halloween outfits and apparently leaving them in Halloween stores for unsuspecting shoppers to find. Read more…

‘BBC Kid’ returns as one of the best costumes this Halloween

TwitterFacebook

The BBC Kid will go down as one of the best viral videos of 2017 — possibly all time. While the magical moment can never be recreated, it sure does makes one hell of a Halloween costume.

For those out of the loop, political scientist Robert E. Kelly appeared on BBC in March to discuss some very important adult matters. While on live TV, his daughter, now lovingly known as “BBC Kid,” decided to stroll into the room with a confidence only a child could muster. The video is great, and you should really watch it (it’s embedded at the top of this post) if you haven’t.
