We’d bet money that any healthy eating enthusiast has wanted an Omega juicer at some point — the Masticating Nutrition Center model, to be specific.

But Woot, a retailer you should really keep more of an eye on, has that Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Masticating Juicer for $189 right now. That’s $110 off and cheaper than it’s ever been on Amazon.

If you’re not up on your juicer facts, a masticating juicer is a slow-speed, cold-press juicer. Instead of using a fast spinning method to extract juice from food, a masticating juicer is quieter and generates next to no heat — which optimizes healthy enzymes and avoids destroying nutrients. (And destroying the healthy stuff kind of defeats the purpose of a juicer, am I right?) Read more…

Good fats: They’re for real, and can be great for you

Paid Content by Avocados from Mexico

There was a time in the not-so-distant past when low-fat food items and diets were all the rage

Many people had begun to believe that fat was inherently and always bad, and that avoiding it when possible was beneficial to a holistically healthy lifestyle.

But in the past few years, that myth has been effectively busted.
