These high school seniors took ID photos to the next level

TwitterFacebook

TLDR: These student ID photos are next level.

Chances are you probably haven’t heard of North Farmington High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan. That changes now. The school’s entire senior class took school ID cards to the next level, dressing themselves up in fun pop culture and meme references.

Even better, you don’t have to go to Michigan and see them in person. The students use a simple #NFID19 hashtag to catalog them, and the class of 2019 isn’t even the first year to do this. Seniors at North Farmington High School have been on this trend for several years, and there are no signs of them stopping. Read more…

Meme perfectly explains the difference between freshman and and senior year

TwitterFacebook

There’s something so embarrassing, yet sweet, about how excited you were before the first day of school freshman year.

By the time senior year of high school or college rolls around, it’s easy to catch yourself doing things a bit differently than the wide-eyed kid you were four years ago. Thankfully there’s a meme that sums up the self-awareness perfectly.

After freshman year, levels of enthusiasm when it comes to getting school supplies quickly drops, right alongside a steady increase of the unshakeable plague that is senioritis.

Night before first day of freshman year: Ok I have my backpack, notebooks, color coded folders, pencils, pens…

Night before first day of senior year: Ok I have one piece of .7 lead…

Drake follows through on designing this high school custom uniforms, which feature the perfect lyric

TwitterFacebook

During the filming of “God’s Plan,” Drake gave away a lot of money to the good people of Miami — $1 million to be exact. But while creating the tear-jerker of a video, he also apparently made a promise to the students of Miami High School that he would design custom uniforms for the students to rock.

Turns out Good Guy Drake is following through with that and the students might be getting them just in time for summer break.

“Miami High new alternate uniforms,” Drake wrote on his Instagram story over the weekend, proclaiming in a hashtag that he too would be wearing the uniform this summer.  Read more…

Norwegian government has asked high school graduates to please not have sex on roundabouts

What can you say besides, kids these days?
Norway has an annual post-graduation tradition called “Russ,” in which kids party and drink heavily for a few weeks. This often includes taking your clothes off, I guess.

The Trump administration runs like a middle school (with nuclear weapons)

TwitterFacebook

Adolescence can last anywhere from three years to 65 — at least in the case of the Trump administration.

Events of the past week have firmly placed the entire Trump White House in the “middle school drama” category on Netflix. Between Kelly, the loyal best friend forced to warn Tillerson about his upcoming breakup via tweet, a president who expresses his angst on social media in CAPS LOCK, and Jared being constantly in and out of the Principal Mueller’s office, the parallels are just too alarming to ignore.

It’s worth noting that the Trump administration doesn’t actually take place in a binge-able Netflix universe but in real life, where decisions have material consequences outside of “Benny’s going alone to the school dance.”  Read more…

10 times high schoolers had the most extra promposals

TwitterFacebook

You can’t just ask someone to prom. If you really want to go to the biggest event of high school with them, promposing is a whole production — it’s about as much effort, if not more, as a marriage proposal.

For many, prom itself isn’t necessarily the highlight of their high school career. It’s the promposal.

From fiery signs to nerdy equations, here are ten creative, over-the-top promposals high schoolers have come up with in the last few years.

1. The guy who filled a locker with 500 ping pong balls

Kaelen Walsh asked his girlfriend of a year and a half to prom by writing “Prom?” on 500 ping pong balls and stuffing them all in her locker. When the unsuspecting senior opened it, hundreds of balls poured out.  Read more…

This Twitter thread about ‘The Incident’ in your high school is utterly fantastic

TwitterFacebook

High school! It’s an utterly insane four year slog of pressure and social anxiety and hormones. At some point during the high school tenures of so many, that pressure releases in the form of An Incident. And if you’ve ever wanted to read all of these stories, now you can.

On Monday night, Buzzfeed writer Katie Notopoulos Tweeted out a simple question:

What was “the incident” in your high school?

— Katie Notopoulos (@katienotopoulos) December 26, 2017

And oh, the responses she got (which as of this writing is 1,825, and doesn’t even count manual “response” retweets).  Read more…
