If you think you know everything there is to know about Guardians of the Galaxy, you’re wrong.

According to director James Gunn, there’s still a “big Easter egg” in both films which hasn’t been spotted — and there are a whole bunch of smaller Easter eggs that are still unfound in volume two.

Gunn mentioned these as part of a Guardians FAQ Twitter thread he started on Wednesday.

Guardians Incredibly Frequently Asked Questions –
-Kraglin’s fin at the end of Vol 2 is a different fin than Yondu’s.
-Yes, I pick all the songs for the movies.
-The Guardians can travel light years in space, OF COURSE they can figure out how to power a Walkman/Zune w/o batteries

RIP, Groot, we hardly knew you were dead.

Director James Gunn broke a million hearts today when he confirmed that, yes, Groot dies at the end of the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Baby Groot is his son, not his resurrected form.

First Groot is dead. Baby Groot is his son.

Predictably, the internet went wild with grief. And yes, I’m including myself here.

Fans: Marvel needs characters to stay dead, otherwise it’s meaningless.

Mark Hamill may just have tweeted his way into a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ role

Usually, decisions about who gets cast in a film take place behind the scenes.

Obviously there are rumours and reports that circulate, but for the most part the whole process is done behind closed doors.

Not always, though.

This is 2018, after all, pretty much everyone is on social media, and speaking to people on Twitter is the new speaking to people in person.

This time, it started with a simple request.

@JamesGunn, could you do me a huge favour and find a role for @HamillHimself in Guardians 3? The awesomeness of it might end me, but I’m willing to risk it. Thanks 🙂👍
