The Philadelphia Flyers have a new mascot, and WTF???

TwitterFacebook

The Philadelphia Flyers revealed its new mascot Gritty — and he will haunt you for the rest of your foreseeable days.

The scraggly, googly-eyed, orange-haired mascot was made public Monday morning, and looks like the result of an unholy union between the Babadook and a Muppet from Fraggle Rock.

Gritty is probably the last thing anyone needs, or wants to see at any sports arena. But hey, here we are.

These mascots taking mirror selfies work hard to get that bread

TwitterFacebook

Twitter became slightly more tolerable when a group of mascots started a wholesome thread hyping each other up.

Mascots don’t get enough credit — inside every massive costume, there’s a human being working hard to make money.

User @iPurrple tweeted a mirror selfie on Tuesday  wearing the Baskin-Robbins mascot costume at work, captioning it, “Wake up hustlers, let’s get this bread. No days off.”

TwitterFacebook

Some people are just content to live. But some won’t others until they can wear a giant fried food costume at a football game.

Every year on Jan. 1 Outback Steakhouse sponsors the Outback Bowl, a big college football game that also features a bizarre fried mascot: a Bloomin’ Onion, just like the one you can find on the steakhouse’s menu.

Ryan Nanni, a contributor for SB Nation, announced at the beginning of this year that he was on a quest to don the fried onion costume for the big game. To underline this, his Twitter bio reads, “My only professional goal for 2017: to serve as the Blooming Onion at the next Outback Bowl.” Read more…
