The service, which last experienced another outage just three days ago, appears to once again be on the fritz.
According to Down Detector, the problem is mainly focused in North America, Western Europe, and Japan.

From the U.S. to Europe and Asia, Twitter has left us.
“Something is technically wrong,” the website reads. The site claims it will have “things back to normal soon.” The Twitter app for iPhone will load, but if you try refreshing the feed, you’ll see the message, “Tweets aren’t loading right now.”

Were your Facebook and Instagram feeds looking pretty bare this morning? Fear not, you still have friends. The real reason was actually a massive global outage on Instagram and Facebook which hit the social networks late Thursday.
Per DownDetector, the Facebook outage affected users in the U.S., UK, Mexico and parts of South America, with users reporting that they were unable to access the site for hoursAccording to TNW, the issue began around 1pm ET (6pm GMT).
Facebook users—including publishers—were unable to post anything to the site during the outage, which might explain why your feed is looking pretty sparse this morning. Read more…

Facebook Messenger went down across the globe earlier today, leaving countless IMs as “read” with no response, but somehow the world kept turning.

Frazzled users started complaining of the outage at around 6 a.m. Eastern Time, according to popular status reporting site Outage Report. The issues appeared to affect the East Coast of the US, Europe, and southeast Asia, peaking at about 8 a.m.

Facebook acknowledged the issue on its developers site after about an hour at 7:06 a.m. Eastern Time, posting a message stating that the outage was being investigated by a team working to find a solution to the problem. The social network hasn’t yet updated the page, so the investigation is ongoing. Read more…
