As far as his company is concerned, Papa John is Papa gone.

According to an AP report, Papa John’s founder and former CEO John Schnatter will be removed from all company marketing materials — including pizza boxes — after it was revealed that he used the n-word on a conference call in May.

“The Board of Directors of Papa John’s accepted Mr. Schnatter’s resignation as Chairman of the Board earlier this week,” current CEO Steve Ritchie wrote in an open letter for the brand’s website. “It has also been decided he will no longer be in any of the advertising or marketing materials associated with the brand.” Read more…

Papa John’s founder used the n-word on a conference call

If you haven’t already, it’s probably time to reconsider your trash pizza alliance: According to a report from Forbes, John Schnatter, the founder and former CEO of Papa John’s, used the n-word during a conference call in May.

“Better ingredients, better pizza, and also Nazis – we do not like them.”

Sure, that’s a paraphrase, but Papa John’s wants the world to know that the company doesn’t approve of Adolf Hitler and his ilk. This notice comes to you after Father John’s founder, John Schnatter, recently told investors that NFL protests have hurt his company’s sales.

Papa John’s is a sponsor of the NFL, and Schnatter believes that players kneeling during the national anthem to protest racism and police brutality have led to fewer people buying his pizzas. Read more…

Hey Papa John’s, maybe the the NFL protests aren’t the reason business sucks

TwitterFacebook

Oh poor Papa John.

The NFL protests are hurting his pizza chain’s sales, Papa John’s founder and CEO John Schnatter complained on a conference call Wednesday, even though he thought the league had the problem “nipped in the bud” last year. The company said on the call that it was the NFL’s biggest sponsor.

Colin Kaepernick and other players were making a statement about police brutality and racial inequality — but did they even stop to think about how their actions might affect in-store sales of multinational pizza corporations?  Read more…
