Terry Crews shares apology letter from the agent that allegedly assaulted him

Terry Crews has accepted an apology from Adam Venit.

On Friday, Crews posted the apology letter he received from former William Morris Endeavor agent, the man who Crews said sexually assaulted him at an industry function in 2016. The allegations first surfaced when Crews wrote about it last fall in the wake of Harvey Weinstein’s fall and the breakout of the #MeToo movement.

But actor Terry Crews — who has been one of the most vital and fearless voices of the #MeToo movement since the beginning — showed a very real, tangible cost to speaking out Tuesday. He confirmed that his lawsuit against his alleged sexual assaulter was the reason he wouldn’t be in Expendables 4.

During his powerful testimony to a senate committee in support of the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights, Crews spoke candidly about his sexual assault, the culture that enables predators, and the price survivors pay for coming forward. Since practically Day 1 of the sexual misconduct reckoning in Hollywood, Terry Crews was one of the strongest voices speaking truth to power. Now that his alleged harasser has been welcomed back to work, he’s not backing down.

Crews famously accused a “high level Hollywood executive” of groping him at a 2016 party, leading top WME talent agent Adam Venit to take a leave of absenceMashable has confirmed that Venit returned to work on Monday.
