The first draft of that steamed hams script from ‘The Simpsons’ was excellent too

So, the steamed hams skit in The Simpsons’ “22 Short Films About Springfield” is a pretty hot meme right now.
Also known as “Skinner & The Superintendent,” the scene featuring Superintendent Chalmers and Principal Skinner is one of the show’s fun…

Take a first peek at Ed Sheeran on ‘The Simpsons’

TwitterFacebook

First Game of Thrones, now The Simpsons.

Ed Sheeran is making television cameos with a Stan Lee-like finesse of late. The singer’s next appearance will be amongst America’s favourite Springfield family, as part of their 29th season.

Sheeran will appear in a musical-themed episode titled “Haw-Haw Land” — a dig at La La Land. He’ll play Brandon, a British lad who plays his way into Lisa’s sights with a penchant for piano — causing a love triangle with a certain Nelson Muntz.

We’ve caught a first glimpse of Sheeran as a Simpsons character thanks to a new Fox ad. The episode will air on Fox in the U.S. on Sunday, Jan. 7. Read more…

What’s next for ‘The Simpsons’ after years of mocking their new owner Disney?

TwitterFacebook

As I’m sure you heard, Disney bought 20th Century Fox for $52 billion today. And I’m sure your first thought was, what does this mean for The Simpsons?

While we don’t know exactly, we will gladly speculate while ruminating on the fact that, for 28 years, the longest-running animated show has dunked on the Big Mouse company over and over again.

While we don’t know about how the show’s new overlords will treat the beloved show, it could very well mean good things for fans.

Another huge thing that Disney bought — besides the right to include X-Men in their Avengers movies — is a hefty share of control over streaming platform Hulu. As we wrote, one of Disney’s main goals for buying the media company would be to compete with Netflix’s and Amazon’s growing influence with its own enormous back catalog. That includes The Simpsons.  Read more…

‘The Simpsons’ has finally addressed why Maggie is still a baby after 27 years

TwitterFacebook

There are some paradoxes in life far that are far too complex to even begin addressing.

Take Maggie Simpson for instance. She’s been on our screens for 27 years, but she’s still only a year old.

Well there are some things in life that we simply aren’t meant to question, and this clearly falls into that category. But on Sunday night, curious viewer Brian Fink decided to throw caution to the wind.

Umm I’m confused. This is the first time I’m watching @TheSimpsons in forever…. how is Maggie still a baby with a pacifier? Shouldn’t she be in college by now?!? 🤔

‘The Simpsons’ writer unveils cut scene from ‘Who Shot Mr Burns?’ episode

There have been many, many great whodunnits in our time.

Few can live up to the sheer dramatic tension surrounding the mystery of the Springfield resident who put a bullet in the town’s most timeless villain, though.

On Saturday Josh Weinstein, one of the writers of the two-part “Who Shot Mr Burns?” Simpsons special, took to Twitter to share an awesome discovery.

Whoa, I totally forgot about this scene from the table draft we cut from “Who Shot Mr. Burns, Pt. 2” of Homer on the run as a fugitive

‘The Problem With Apu’ dives into the damaging effects of stereotyping

It’s 2017, and some things just won’t stand anymore. Hollywood’s twisted norms are being ripped apart, from habitually silenced sexual misconduct to blatant whitewashing and irresponsible racial representation.
The last of that delightful trifect…
