How much would you pay for Apple TV+, anyway? Here’s what the Mashable staff said.

Many of us have woken up to the reality that all of the “reasonably priced” subscription services we pay for add up to a lot of cash money all together.
So when Apple debuted its Apple TV+ subscription service on Monday, we wondered: who among …

Apple’s clever (and kind of risky) plan to dominate the week before its big event

TwitterFacebook

After years of doing things one way, Apple is changing things up a bit. The company has a special broadcast planned for Monday, but instead of dropping everything at once, it’s been releasing a steady trickle of hardware news all week.

Apple has spotlighted minor, but still noticeable, hardware upgrades each day. On Monday, we got two new iPad models with Apple Pencil support and upgraded chips for better performance. Tuesday brought us beefy iMac performance enhancements nearly two years after the last iMac upgrades. Finally, Apple started Wednesday by showing off the new generation of AirPods with hands-free Siri integration. Read more…

Tim Cook promotes the new AirPods using the iPad meme he started

TwitterFacebook

No doubt anxious to advertise Apple’s new AirPods, Tim Cook has chosen to participate in his own meme cycle.

On Tuesday, the Apple CEO tweeted a photo of himself writing “hello” on an iPad, which spawned a bunch of shoddily Photoshopped memes. On Wednesday, Mr. Apple brought the whole thing home (and killed the joke) with an AirPods version. The tweet went up shortly before Apple announced the new headphones model.

Sadly, people who spend a non-troubling amount of time on the internet and did not see the first version of the meme are now riffing on Cook’s new tweet in the replies. Despite being only OK, the meme will probably endure for the rest of Wednesday.  Read more…

Say hello to this photo of Tim Cook writing on an iPad that was made to be meme’d

TwitterFacebook

Hello, Mr. Apple. Nice to see you back in the meme circuit again.

If you’ve been missing Tim Cook since the Tim Apple meme died down a bit, you’re in luck. Twitter users are trolling the Apple CEO yet again, after he posted a photo of himself writing “hello” on an iPad on Monday morning.

The iPad in Cook’s hand provided a white canvas that basically screamed “meme me,” so naturally, that’s exactly what his followers did.

The screen was painfully simple to Photoshop, so many decided to replace the word “hello” with other hilarious messages to Trump, Spotify, and more. Read more…

Apple ad focuses on iPhone’s most marketable feature — privacy

Apple is airing a new ad spot in primetime today. Focused on privacy, the spot is visually cued, with no dialog and a simple tagline: Privacy. That’s iPhone. In a series of humorous vignettes, the message is driven home that sometimes you just want a little privacy. The spot has only one line of text […]

Stephen Colbert calls BS on Trump’s ‘Tim Apple’ excuses

After Donald Trump referred to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook as “Tim Apple,” Stephen Colbert weighed in on the “ongoing national scandal that we’re calling Applegate (not Christina).”
There was no way Trump’s gaffe, which took place last week at a White H…

Donald Trump can’t stop lying about the ‘Tim Apple’ flub for some strange reason

TwitterFacebook

Like a toddler or a ‘flat earth’ truther, President Trump seems intent on denying things that are established facts.

On Monday morning, Trump tweeted that when he referred to Apple CEO Tim Cook as “Tim Apple” at a White House roundtable last week, he was really saying “Tim/Apple” as a way to “save words,” which is totally something Trump is known for doing…

At a recent round table meeting of business executives, & long after formally introducing Tim Cook of Apple, I quickly referred to Tim + Apple as Tim/Apple as an easy way to save time & words. The Fake News was disparagingly all over this, & it became yet another bad Trump story!

Tim Cook new Twitter name calls out Trump’s ‘Tim Apple’ flub

TwitterFacebook

If you can say one thing about Apple CEO, it’s that he has a great sense of humor.

Cook has changed his Twitter name from “Tim Cook” (pretty obvious) to “Tim ,” seemingly in homage to President Donald Trump’s flub on Wednesday when he called him “Tim Apple” during a meeting.

Trump called his friend and Apple CEO Tim Cook ‘Tim Apple’

TwitterFacebook

Apparently Trump thinks Apple’s CEO is named … Tim Apple.

The president flubbed Tim Cook’s name during an American Workforce Policy Advisory Board Meeting on Wednesday while complimenting him on expanding employment in the United States.

“You’ve really put a big investment in our country. We appreciate it very much, Tim Apple.”

Please appreciate both Ivanka Trump and Cook’s complete lack of reactions when Trump slips up. Both manage to breeze past it without cracking up, which is a feat in itself.

It didn’t take long for the reaction tweets to roll in.  Read more…

Trump called Apple’s CEO ‘Tim Apple’ by mistake

The president has to remember a lot of names! Some he remembers, some he forgets. But we will never forget today in the Year of Our Lord 2019 when President Trump called Apple CEO Tim Cook “Tim Apple.” Maybe we’re just losing our minds waiting for a good meme, but there’s something relentlessly good and […]
