Love anime? A Crunchyroll account will get you access to more than 800 shows, plus manga titles and more.

Netflix has a pretty decent selection of anime to start with. With more than 50 titles, including classics like Fullmetal Alchemist and Gurren Lagann, it’s hard not to get sucked into a binge session with the bright colors, intense action, and heart-wrenching drama that only anime can provide.

But Netflix’s anime library can only last for so long. What happens when you finish that last episode of Your Lie in April and you’ve run out of shows to watch? There’s always plenty more anime for you to sink your teeth into, and Crunchyroll is here to show you just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Crunchyroll is an anime-dedicated streaming service with more than 800 shows — and counting. The streaming service includes plenty of your favorites, but they’re always adding new shows and movies, whether they be older releases or the latest premieres from Japan. It also includes a wide selection of manga and even a number of live-action J-dramas. Read more…

Incredible ‘Batman Ninja’ anime trailer imagines the dark knight as a samurai

TwitterFacebook

The second trailer for Batman Ninja arrived Tuesday and the anime movie looks even better than we could have imagined.

This trailer — the first one in English — gives a better glimpse at what Batman Ninja is about: Batman as a samurai working with a handful of familiar allies including Robin, Catwoman, and Nightwing to stop the Joker. Except everyone has been sent back in time to feudal Japan thanks to Gorilla Grod’s time displacement machine.

Batman Ninja comes out digitally on April 24 with a physical release on May 8. Read more…

Why you should watch ‘Mary and The Witch’s Flower’ this weekend

TwitterFacebook

Recently, it’s felt almost like our duty to live in a world devoid of magic. When everything’s falling apart, there’s this pressure to “live in the real world” — to replace all wonder and hope with horror and pragmatism.

Unless you’re watching Mary and The Witch’s Flower, which blurs the lines between fantasy and realism, turning the everyday into an enchantment. And luckily the US dub, featuring voice talent like Kate Winslet and Jim Broadbent, premiered just in time for the weekend.

When animation legend Studio Ghibli appeared to be shutting down in 2015, it felt like our world lost a whole lot of magic. Studio Ghibli feature films just weren’t financially viable anymore. There was no longer a place for those awe-inspiring, imaginative, heartfelt, and painstakingly hand-drawn worlds that defined so many of our childhoods. Read more…
