Trevor Noah made a ‘Black Panther’ cameo that everyone missed

When Black Panther first hit movie theater screens in February, all eyes were on the legendary cast that included Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Lupita Nyong’o. But somehow, Trevor Noah managed to sneak into Wakanda too. 

The host of the Daily Show had a cameo in the Marvel film that you might have missed completely, no matter how many times you’ve seen the film. 

While he wasn’t shown physically, his voice plays an important role leading up to the film’s climax. Towards the end of the film, CIA Agent Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) gets a crash course in flying a vibranium-powered, American-style jet. The A.I. incorporated in the machinery? That’s voiced by Noah, who plays Griot — kind of like what Siri is to an iPhone.  Read more…

A theater played ‘Fifty Shades’ instead of ‘Black Panther’ and what a hilarious nightmare

There are two big blockbusters out this month: You might have heard about Black Panther — the critically acclaimed Marvel film about black superheroes in the fictional land of Wakanda. The other is Fifty Shades Freed, a widely criticized installment about two lovers in Seattle. 

Clearly, two very different movies.

So when the Atlantic Station theater in Atlanta accidentally started playing Fifty Shades Freed to an audience that was expecting to be transported to Wakanda, things got hilarious.

Twitter user @ChefWaites shared video footage from within Atlantic Station of the unfortunate mixup, and you can hear people in the background laughing incredulously at the mistake. “It’s the opposite movie!,” one moviegoer exclaims.  Read more…

Black Panther is almost here but to tide you over, we finally have a music video for the soundtrack’s lead single, “All The Stars.” 

Top Dawg Entertainment heavyweight Kendrick Lamar is at the helm of the music accompanying the film, and in “All The Stars,” he shines bright with label mate SZA. Once again, frequent Lamar collaborators Dave Meyers & the little homies handle the music video. It’s just as lush as Lamar’s previous projects with them—filled with vibrant colors and incredible prints and scenes that look like they belong right on the Black Panther red carpet alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Basset, and everyone else in Wakanda.  Read more…
