How an ‘ergonomic’ mouse saved my wrist and made me hate my life

TwitterFacebook

Ergonomic peripherals — a fancy term for more comfortable computer accessories — are the next big thing. Everyone seems to be using standing desks these days, and more ergonomic mice and keyboards sneak into bestseller lists every year. These products are designed to promote your health and comfort, and to avoid Carpal Tunnel, repetitive strain injuries and other common office afflictions.

Enter the Evoluent VerticalMouse 4, a mouse which purportedly “avoids forearm twisting for comfort and good health.”

Clever UFC fan fools the system, streams a pay-per-view UFC event by pretending to play it

TwitterFacebook

It may not have been lawful, but it sure was clever.

It worked. Although the full stream has since been deleted from Lester’s Twitch channel, clips of his performance went viral (h/t Bloody Elbow), because of course they did.

The “pretending to play a video game” thing is cute, and it’s almost certainly the reason this is making the rounds on social media. But if you look at the “clips” section of Lester’s Twitch channel — which still contains portions of the longer UFC stream — he didn’t fully commit to “playing” a live UFC event for the entire time.  Read more…

TwitterFacebook

A League of Legends (LOL) player has been suspended until 2020 after he was caught on a livestream making physical threats against his girlfriend.

Chinese LOL player Li Wei Jun, who goes under the name Vasilii, was fired earlier in October from Chinese team Newbee, and an investigation into his behaviour was launched.

Riot has announced that the player would be suspended for 20 competitive months, which run from Jan to Oct — meaning he’ll effectively be banned until January 2020.
