With Game of Thrones Season 8 seemingly just around the corner—c’mon people, let’s get that release date locked down—on set photos of the HBO saga are finally beginning to trickle their way to the fans. The first to hit: a stunning photo of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.

In a November cover photo for Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington pose in the snow, looking cold and super intense; that makes sense considering Season 8 is set to be cold and, you guessed it, super intense.

A missing character is returning to ‘Game of Thrones’ for the final season

Are you sick of feeling ghosted by Ghost, Jon Snow’s faithful direwolf who was very much absent all of last season?

Fret not. Ghost is returning for the final season of Game of Thrones. The show’s VFX supervisor Joe Bauer has said the albino beast will be “very present” in Season Eight.

“Oh, you’ll see him again. He has a fair amount of screen time in Season Eight,” Bauer told Huffington Post. “He’s very present and does some pretty cool things in Season Eight.”

According to Bauer, they did shoot one scene with Ghost in Season Seven, which ended up being cut. The scene featured Jon Snow telling his wolf to take care of Sansa as he was leaving Winterfell. Read more…

We can’t stop saying goodbye to Jon Snow. First was said goodbye when he was dead. Then he wasn’t.

But now we face the prospect of the final season of Game of Thrones in 2019, and know it’s for good this time.

So does actor Kit Harington, who seems equally if not more devastated by having to say RIP to the character he played for eight years.

“I actually just wrapped on Thursday last week,” he said in a recent BBC Radio 2 interview promoting his stage performance in True West. “It’s just been this amazing journey, and I kind of said to them in my wrap speech that it’s always been more than a job. It’s like they were a family and it was my life. I’ve loved every minute. I’ve been quite emotional the last week, thinking about having ended — having finished it.” Read more…
