Imagine having incredibly exciting news delivered to you by the least excitable man in the world.

Last summer musical star Lin-Manuel Miranda revealed that he had learned along with Weird Al Yankovic that they’d both be getting stars on the Hollywood walk of fame together.

Okay so this is awesome on a couple levels. Firstly he brought Hollyhock along with him, suggesting he’s actually managed to maintain his relationship with her since the fourth season of Bojack Horseman went out on September 8. For Bojack, who tends to destroy anything good in his life, this is a major achievement.  Read more…

Lin-Manuel Miranda to reprise ‘Hamilton’ role…in Puerto Rico

TwitterFacebook

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will reprise his iconic role. In 2019, Miranda will return to the award-winning musical in the title role when it opens in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to Playbill

Miranda is loud and proud of his Puerto Rican heritage, and of the diverse, color-blind Hamilton cast as it reflects his American upbringing. His last performance as Alexander Hamilton was in July 2016.

“Bringing [Hamilton] to Puerto Rico is a dream that I’ve had since we first opened at The Public Theater in 2015,” Miranda said in a statement through Playbill. “When I last visited the island, a few weeks before Hurricane Maria, I had made a commitment to not only bring the show to Puerto Rico, but also return again to the title role. In the aftermath of Maria we decided to expedite the announcement of the project to send a bold message that Puerto Rico will recover and be back in business, stronger than ever.” Read more…

Watch out Broadway buffs, there’s a new theatre critic in town and he has a few problems with the ever-popular Hamilton

Three-year-old Sebastian spent the beginning of his birthday celebration on Saturday viewing the first act of Hamilton with his dad, playwright and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

When you’re the son of the play’s creator, waiting hours on Ticketmaster just isn’t a part of your theater-going experience. If only the rest of us could be so lucky.

In advance of his 3rd birthday, we took lil man to Act One of Hamilton on Saturday. His comments in this thread..pic.twitter.com/e3hBugEsnI

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Common blessed the Obama Summit with a freestyle

TwitterFacebook

The Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago was a gathering of brilliant minds, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t fun had, too.

The inaugural event went off without a hitch, and during a joint appearance at the Chicago’s National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture on Tuesday, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Common both took the time to drop a little rhyme on the audience.

The two take turns with few lines each, and of course there were a few Hamilton references thrown in for good measure.

“I told you all before I was inspired by Hamilton. He said Common sense keep coming on, he said I was the new form of the George Washington. And that’s how it is, we got biz, you know what time it is….Manuel, check it out, we jam well….” rapped Common. Read more…
