Trump’s SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh looks exactly like Glenn from ‘Superstore’

Donald Trump is obsessed with television ratings, so it makes perfect sense that he’d choose a SCOTUS nominee who strongly resembles an actor, right? Right.

Cut to Monday night, when Trump picked Judge Brett Kavanaugh to take the seat of Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his retirement from the Supreme Court in late June.

Some immediately saw Kavanaugh as the man who could help overturn Roe vs. Wade, but others saw Glenn Sturgis — the manager of Cloud 9 on NBC’s Superstore, played by actor Mark McKinney.

Are we sure that Brett Kavanaugh isn’t really Glenn Sturgis from Superstore? @AmericaFerrera #superstore #bothreadthebible pic.twitter.com/5ItLvfrChI

Stephen Colbert played a little bingo game for Trump’s Supreme Court pick

TwitterFacebook

Stephen Colbert played a little game or two watching Trump’s nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court.

During Tuesday night’s monologue on The Late Show, Colbert revealed his winning “Trump nomination bingo” card, after the president named Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Anthony Kennedy.

Pulling the card from of his pocket, Colbert said, “You see, all the squares say ‘white guy’.”

After calling Kavanaugh a “cover model for Generic Dads Monthly,” Colbert said he also played a drinking game during the nomination event.

“I had a little drinking game, I would pour myself a drink every time my glass was empty.”  Read more…

‘The Bachelorette’ was interrupted by Trump’s SCOTUS pick. No, viewers were not fine.

TwitterFacebook

Donald Trump has named Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Anthony Kennedy in the U.S. Supreme Court — but will he accept this rose?

The Bachelorette fans have complained that Trump’s SCOTUS nomination of Kavanaugh, a federal appeals court judge who worked in the Bush White House, interrupted Monday night’s show.

Host Chris Harrison tweeted a heads up in the lead-up to the episode, but it didn’t seem to smooth things over with angry viewers.

Here’s my PSA for #BachelorNation @abcnews will be cutting in at 9/8 ET/CT tonight for SCOTUS announcement#TheBachelorette will be “paused” and seen in its entirety. Now go have a great day and I’ll see you tonight!

RBG, Twitter is down on its knees, begging you to please stay

TwitterFacebook

Many of us started this week thinking it couldn’t get any worse.

Oh, how young we were then.

After a week of devastating decisions by the Supreme Court, including a decision in favor of Trump’s Muslim ban, Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he’d be retiring on Wednesday. This leaves room for Trump to appoint yet another justice — presumably one who is anti-choice and anti-LGBTQ rights.

On Twitter, liberals politely begged 85-year-old Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to do everything she could to hang on.

At the risk of making everyone more depressed, it’s important to note that RBG’s voting power will weaken, now that conservatives will enjoy a 6-3 majority with Trump’s new appointee. Prior, Kennedy served as a swing vote, and occasionally agreed with the court’s liberal minority. Read more…
