Snapchat’s user satisfaction is at an all-time low

TwitterFacebook

Snapchat has embarked on its road to redemption with a redesigned redesign — but new polling numbers show that the journey back to user faith will be a long one.

The polling company YouGov released a report about Snapchat on Friday showing that millennial consumer sentiment towards the brand is at an all-time low. YouGov’s Impression poll about Snapchat, which asks whether people have a positive or negative impression of a brand, dropped 73 percent from late January to early April. Snapchat reached a high score of 30, and dropped to 8 by April. Yikes! Read more…

Why Snapchat’s re-redesign will fail and how to fix it

Snap screwed it all up jumbling messages and Stories, banishing creators to Discover, and wrecking auto-advance. Prideful of his gut instincts, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel refused to listen to the awful user reviews and declining usage. Now a study shows a 73% drop in user sentiment towards Snapchat, the app’s user count shrank in March, […]

Snap is tanking after disappointing earnings

TwitterFacebook

It might be a beautiful day in Venice, CA, but things at the beach-headquartered Snap are not so sunny at the moment.

Snap reported disappointing revenue in its Q1 earnings report on Tuesday — and the market reacted like the volatile, fickle beast that it is.

Snap missed investor expectations big time, reporting a quarterly revenue of $231 million. The expectation was $244.5 million, according to a Thomson Reuters consensus estimate.

And things aren’t likely to improve any time soon. CEO Evan Spiegel said that Snap’s growth is stalling.

“We are planning for our Q2 growth rate to decelerate substantially from Q1 levels,” Spiegel said. Read more…

Snapchat scrambles to fix failed redesign, moves Stories to Discover

Snapchat’s redesign was a disaster. It cratered ad views and revenue and led Snapchat’s user count to actually shrink in March. That’s why CEO Evan Spiegel just announced a big reversal of the redesign’s worst part. “We learned that combining watching Stories and communicating with friends into the same place made it harder to optimize […]

Despite backlash to the redesign, Snapchat downloads are up

“What’s all the fuss about?” Curiosity over why people are protesting the Snapchat redesign seems to have inspired a new wave of users to try the app. Snapchat downloads in the U.S. went up 41 percent to 76 percent in the week following the redesign’s February 6th rollout compared to the week before, according to data provided exclusively to TechCrunch by Sensor Tower.… Read More

No, Kylie Jenner didn’t wipe out $1.3 billion of Snap’s market value

TwitterFacebook

On Thursday, the business news site Bloomberg published a story under a shocking headline: “In one tweet, Kylie Jenner wiped out $1.3 billion of Snap’s market value.”

The story was pegged to a 7 percent decline in Snap Inc.’s stock price, and it would have you believe that one tweet — just 88 characters — was able to destroy a significant portion of the company’s market valuation.

For reference, here’s the tweet in question:

sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.

Yes, Kylie Jenner, the 20-year-old reality TV star, is one of the most popular Snapchat users. And yes, the Kardashian family is incredibly powerful. But let’s not crown Kylie the queen of Snap’s stock decline despite how fun this image is: Read more…

Looks like Kylie Jenner might be giving up on Snapchat with everyone else

TwitterFacebook

When one of the most popular users of your app joins the thousands of people (including Chrissy Teigen) speaking up about your awful redesign, well, maybe it’s finally time to listen.

Kylie Jenner, aka Stormi’s mom, aka @kylizzlmynizzl on Snapchat, has officially added her voice to the concerned Snapchat users who reject everything about the new redesign.

“Sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me,” Kylie tweeted on Wednesday. “Ugh this is so sad.”

TwitterFacebook

People are all up in their feelings about the new Snapchat redesign.

One million people have signed a petition urging Snapchat to revert back to its original design. Even Chrissy Teigen’s spoken out against it. And, now, someone’s actually created a rap about how much they dislike the update.

680K disgruntled Snapchatters have signed a petition to get rid of the new update

TwitterFacebook

The Snapchat redesign is proving rather controversial, to say the very least. Indeed, Chrissy Teigen’s already declared that she hates it, making us all feel far less alone.

And now, 680,000 people have signed a Change.org petition urging Snap Inc. to reverse its drastic redesign.

The petition, created by Australia-based Nic Rumsey, aims to “convince” Snap Inc. to “change the app back to the basics,” and reverse its latest update.

“With the release of the new Snapchat update, many users have found that it has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more difficult,” reads the petition description. “There is a general level of annoyance among users and many have decided to use a VPN app to go back to the old Snapchat, as that’s how annoying this new update has become.”  Read more…

No, Snapchat won’t reverse its update for 50,000 retweets

TwitterFacebook

Snapchat users really want the old Snapchat back following the redesign rollout.

The Snapchat kids want the old way back so badly that in less than 24 hours, a tweet suggesting all we needed was 50,000 retweets has reached more than 733,000 retweets. The call to action is reminiscent of the Wendy’s chicken nugget teen who got 3.6 million retweets, making his plea for free nuggets the most retweeted of all time.

But unfortunately, it’s just a brilliant photoshop job.
