‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 trailer makes it clear: We’ve entered the teen years

Everyone grows up, even the Stranger Things kids.

The first proper trailer for Season 3 of Netflix’s hit series — which launches on July 4! — is here, and it’s drenched in neon tones, so much bad fashion, and raging hormones. Also, The Who’s “Teenage Wasteland,” in case you didn’t pick up on the “coming of age in the summertime sun (with goopy monsters)” vibe.

Yep, there are monsters. The supernatural stuff with Eleven and the Upside Down is clearly still central to everything. You’ll spot some new wrinkles, some new faces. But this is still definitively Stranger Things. Read more…

For those who love popular tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons and the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, you’re in for a real treat with this one.

We all remember the opening scenes of Stranger Things’ first season, which takes place in 1984: Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas sit around a small table in a basement acting out an enthralling section of a D&D campaign that would be called back to for the entirety of the series. ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 gets an accompanying game

It’s still a little while off until we see the third season of Stranger Things, but you can take a look at the game that’s based on it.

Stranger Things 3: The Game was announced at The Game Awards by series creators Matt and Ross Duffer on Thursday night. It’s a 16-bit styled title developed by indie developer BonusXP. 

Netflix said it will be coming to all platforms, but there seems to be no date announced for its release just yet. 

It comes following the closure of Telltale Games, who partnered with Netflix in June to work on a unspecified Stranger Things game. Read more…

David Harbour is back on his “man of the fanpeople” bullshit, which is great news for anyone who likes Jim Hopper and uplifting stories.

The Stranger Things star took to Twitter on Saturday with a message for his followers and a heartwarming photo. It featured Harbour, dressed in his Hopper duds from the Netflix series, standing with a joyous wedding party.

“Hey internet. I know it’s been awhile. I retreated. Needed some space. You probably get it. But I’ve been thinking about ya in the interim. And all your retweets. And so me and some fun folks in Springfield, Illinois made good on our promise we made all those months ago,” the tweet read. Read more…

Look, we’re all hoping there’s some truth to the possibility of romance between two main characters in Stranger Things Season 3 — and so is Millie Bobby Brown.

Brown, who plays Eleven in the beloved Netflix series, fully supports co-star David Harbour’s teased idea of characters Chief Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers falling in love, telling Variety she “would love for them to get together.”

Talking to the publisher at an Emmy nomination event for Stranger Things in New York on Tuesday, Brown said she was in full support of a love story between her onscreen counterpart’s guardian, Hopper, and friend Will’s mum, Joyce.   Read more…

‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 will be inspired by an ’80s Chevy Chase movie

It’s going to be a little while longer until we see the third season of Stranger Things, but when it does, expect it to hark back to Chevy Chase at his most prolific.

David Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper in the series, told Variety the new episodes will be inspired by the 1985 action-comedy Fletch.

“The Duffers are so specific each year with the movies. And Fletch is one movie we get to play around and have some fun with this season, which you wouldn’t expect from Stranger Things, and you wouldn’t expect from the Spielberg universe, and you certainly wouldn’t expect from a darker season,” Harbour told the publication.
