Things might get steamy with Joyce and Hopper in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3

TwitterFacebook

No matter how upside down the world becomes, there’s always room to find love.

At least that’s what Stranger Things star David Harbour is hinting at when it comes to Season 3 of the Netflix phenomenon.

More specifically, Harbour teased fans about the undeniable chemistry between his character Hopper and Winona Ryder’s Joyce during a Q&A at an Emmy nomination celebration event on Friday.

So, what can we expect from the newest season when it drops in 2019? In a word: heat.

“It’s the summer of love in Hawkins, Indiana,” he said during the event at Hollywood Forever Cemetary.  Read more…

‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 is coming to Netflix in summer 2019

TwitterFacebook

This fall is going to be devoid of Stranger Things, but fans won’t have to wait too long before the third season hits Netflix.

Stranger Things Season 3 will be dropping on Netflix in summer 2019, Netflix programming executive Cindy Holland told press during the Television Critics Association’s press tour Sunday, Entertainment Weekly reported.

According to Holland, the extended schedule for shooting and production is all a part of the team’s desire to deliver a really satisfying season, perhaps one that will be better received than Season 2, which was pretty good but couldn’t quite live up to the magic of Season 1. Read more…

Happy summer from this ‘Stranger Things’ teaser of Steve serving ice cream

TwitterFacebook

Our first hint of Stranger Things 3 is mostly full of strangers – and one new face. In a commercial for the new mall in Hawkins (just in time for the end of the world!) we catch up with Steve (Joe Keery) and new character Robin (Maya Thurman-Hawke).

“Something is coming…to Hawkins, Indiana!” the official Stranger Things Twitter teased on Monday.

Among its many attractions (The Gap! Zales! Claire’s!), Starcourt Mall has a swaggy food court with the pirate-themed Scoops Ahoy ice cream shop, employer of none other than Steve Harrington. Steve looks less than chuffed about his summer job and appears to have a minor existential crisis after uttering a wobbly “Ahoy!” for the camera. Read more…

Millie Bobby Brown leaves Twitter after becoming the target of horrible meme

TwitterFacebook

Millie Bobby Brown left Twitter on Wednesday after she became the target of a hateful meme.

The meme has been surfacing on social media since last year, but this week it went so far as to prompt Millie, an anti-bullying advocate, to put the brakes on her main account.

The homophobic meme, which features people writing nasty messages and attributing them to the Stranger Things actress, morphed out of the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown. That appears to have started in November 2017 when @KelsFiona said the 14-year-old snatched her hijab at the airport. It was obviously fake — when another Twitter user pointed out that she doesn’t have a hijab on in her profile picture, @KelsFiona said, “because she ripped it off me.”  Read more…

‘Stranger Things’ books are coming to a shelf near you

Two Stranger Things books are on their way from Penguin Random House. That’s two books publishing for sure in 2018 – and the possibility of many, many more.

According to a release from Penguin Random House, Stranger Things: World Turned Upside Down: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Companion will give fans a deeper look at the popular Netflix series. The other, untitled book will be more abstract, drawing inspiration from the Stranger Things world to offer “advice, wisdom, and warnings” for young readers.

Projects scheduled for 2019 include a prequel about Eleven’s mother and backstory penned by Gwenda Bond. Read more…

Netflix feeds our ‘Stranger Things’ obsession with a teasing look at Season 3

TwitterFacebook

We don’t know when it’s coming, but work has officially begun.

Netflix kicked off the Stranger Things Season 3 hype campaign on Friday with a peek behind the scenes. The minute-and-a-half long video confirms that cast members got together April 20 for what looks like the first table read of the new season.

No clips yet. They haven’t even started shooting, apparently. That’s the next step.

The black and white video is heavy on synth-infused music and atmosphere, but short on actual humans doing their jobs. We see actor names listed on placecards, notably series newcomers like Maya Hawke, Cary Elwes, and Jake Busey. Read more…

‘Stranger Things 3’ adds this ‘Princess Bride’ star

TwitterFacebook

Stranger Things 3 is building up a cast which now includes The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes. Elwes and Jake Busey will join the squad in Hawkins for Season 3 of the hit Netflix show.

As you wish! https://t.co/QaabBWf8WM

— Stranger Things (@Stranger_Things) April 18, 2018

According to Entertainment Weekly, Elwes will play the “handsome, slick, and sleazy” Mayor Kline; a “classic ’80s politician — more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.”

Intriguing, and certainly a description fitting of the Season’s de facto villain – apart from the looming Shadow Monster, of course. Read more…

On Friday the 13th, apropos of nothing, Netflix shared a video mourning the Stranger Things 2 deaths that still haunt us: Bob Newby (Sean Astin) and Mews the cat.

It turns out that Bob and Mews are together, wherever they are, and that they’ve done some soul searching and come to terms with their violent, dramatic deaths.
