These football fans made the cutest gesture for kids visiting from the hospital

TwitterFacebook

While some football fans are known for loud and rowdy behaviour in the stands, these Dutch fans are here to win our hearts with some seriously cute stadium behaviour.

Supporters attending the Feyenoord vs. Excelsior match in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, gave a group of young visitors from a children’s hospital a special treat on Sunday.

Here’s a video of the moment fans in the top level of the stands rained down stuffed toys onto the children below, who were visiting from Erasmus MC-Sophia Children’s Hospital. Read more…

While Hasbro offers a slew of popular toys, nothing quite matches up to the popularity of their Nerf line, which includes things like foam footballs and dart guns. But if you like the brand and want to load up, it can get a bit pricey.

Well good news: Nerf Fest has started on Amazon and if you are looking to grab some Nerf gear, now is the time to do so.

Nerf toys can be split into two categories — Nerf blasters and everything else. If you are looking for something on the smaller side, there’s the Nerf Doomlands 2169 Persuader Blaster that’s $10.49 right now, down from the normal $15 price tag. The Doomlands is a very basic blaster, sporting four slits for small darts to pop in and fire quickly.  Read more…

Super Soaker who? The next generation of water guns is here on Kickstarter.

TwitterFacebook

Historically, water guns were small and simple, with a measly reservoir for ammunition. But in 1982, U.S. Air Force and NASA engineer Lonnie Johnson invented a new generation of water gun by combining an empty soda bottle, PVC pipe, and acrylic glass. After its release in 1990, the Super Soaker became one of the most popular and successful toys on the market. This has resulted in over $1 billion in sales since 1990 and has cemented Super Soaker’s spot as one of the most iconic and beloved toys of our modern era.

Back to school season is (somehow) here, y’all.

This means parents have about a month of kids being excited about entering a new grade until they’re, uh, not anymore — and then they’re rushing through homework to get back to video games and Spongebob. Awesome.

That is, unless they have toys that make math, science, creativity, and spelling fun instead of frustratingWalmart has a massive learning toys section and has dropped the price on a ton of items to give parents a hand with getting kids pumped for learning, just in time for the new school year. This sendoff from Toys ‘R’ Us will break your inner child’s heart

TwitterFacebook

Say goodbye to your whole entire childhood everyone, Toys ‘R’ Us is closing its doors for good.

Even Geoffrey, the Toys ‘R’ Us mascot, is packing up. A photo of the star-patterned giraffe — dressed up for vacation with giraffe sunglasses and a giraffe hat — went viral on Wednesday as people mourned the loss of a childhood staple.

He even has a giraffe suitcase!

The photo made its rounds on the internet, climbing to the top of Reddit’s front page.

The original poster, Rene Johnpiere, also posted a super dramatic message from Geoffrey that’s guaranteed to make you cry.

“We will smile with invisible tears because a heart is touched with a strong word,” the message says. “And you will say: ‘It was with them that I had some of the best days of my life.”  Read more…

This is the Lego Batmobile that Batman would want

TwitterFacebook

Bluntly, I’m jealous of the toys of today, and Lego has managed to stoke that sentiment with its latest. The toy giant’s motorized DC Super Heroes Batmobile is part of the Lego’s Powered Up line, and it’s super cool.

The App-Controlled Lego Batmobile set will be landing on Aug. 1 for $99. And while it is only a 321-piece set, included in the box are the two twin motors and the battery pack.

Unlike Lego’s powered-up train set, you don’t build a controller out of Lego. The Batmobile will use Bluetooth to connect to an iOS or Android device, with a dedicated app (coming out when it launches). The app doesn’t just provide basic controls — you can also “code” in moves for the vehicle. Read more…

A Hot Wheels car with a GoPro mount? Yes, please!

TwitterFacebook

Hot Wheels has some pretty creative fans, and its latest creation gives them a new way to express that creativity. Hot Wheels Zoom is a toy car with an attachment for holding a GoPro camera.

This new car is a collaboration between the two brands. You could even say it’s the brainchild of the Hot Wheels community online, which has seen several fans modding vehicles so they could mount a GoPro on top.

The Zoom is the first official car with a spot for a GoPro Session. The car itself has a simple design — a low-riding platform with four wheels and a latch for holding the GoPro. You have a blue aluminum frame on the bottom, with black plastic on the top. To improve aerodynamics, the front and back of the car has a slope design. Read more…

Someone put a real engine in a Barbie car and it’s glorious

TwitterFacebook

Barbie’s toy cars were pretty cool for kids, but the mini cars aren’t that much fun. After all, they can only go a whopping 2.5 miles per hour, according to their product specs.

But one group of car enthusiasts took the toy cars to a whole new level.

Grind Hard Plumbing Co, a YouTube channel for building “crazy contraptions and cars” customized a bright pink Barbie Ford Mustang with a 240cc engine from a dirt bike.

The result: an incredibly fast, very dangerous toy. In the video — which includes some gorgeous shots of a lake at sunset — one of the car’s creators, Ethan, nearly spin off the side of a cliff.  Read more…
