People are sharing their best spill videos after one woman spilled 22 quarts of ranch dressing

TwitterFacebook

A video of a woman accidentally spilling a giant tub of ranch is bringing Twitter users together to share different stories of their own disasters.

It all started when Twitter user @BorboaGrant shared video of a coworker’s spectacular spill of 22 quarts of ranch.

That clip inspired others to share their own videos of spills caught on camera. The result? Perhaps the greatest thread in Twitter history, and I’m only being slightly hyperbolic.

man i wonder who would do that 🤔 pic.twitter.com/08Csv3u5qU

‘I’m baby’ is the new ‘they did surgery on a grape’ and it’s beautiful

In better news, a beautifully meaningless meme is on the rise. And did you know I’m baby?
The internet loves nothing more than absurd inside jokes. If you know, you know, and if you don’t, you’re not baby. I’m baby.

Robert Downey Jr. sparks ‘Avengers’ battle over who has the best ‘stache

TwitterFacebook

Robert Downey Jrmustache Twitter a very important question

The Iron Man himself assembled an elite force of very opinionated Twitter users when he put his fellow Avengers co-stars on blast. With some throwback photos, he called upon the forces of the internet, asking them to settle the debate once and for all — who wore it best?

Ok this time it’s real—Who wore it best, @ChrisEvans @MarkRuffalo? pic.twitter.com/EyrKGKVfem

Some fans immediately jumped into their extremely valid (and slightly thirst-driven) opinions.

My vote is for Mark 😂❤ pic.twitter.com/xDVXXcKDXR

Tim Cook promotes the new AirPods using the iPad meme he started

TwitterFacebook

No doubt anxious to advertise Apple’s new AirPods, Tim Cook has chosen to participate in his own meme cycle.

On Tuesday, the Apple CEO tweeted a photo of himself writing “hello” on an iPad, which spawned a bunch of shoddily Photoshopped memes. On Wednesday, Mr. Apple brought the whole thing home (and killed the joke) with an AirPods version. The tweet went up shortly before Apple announced the new headphones model.

Sadly, people who spend a non-troubling amount of time on the internet and did not see the first version of the meme are now riffing on Cook’s new tweet in the replies. Despite being only OK, the meme will probably endure for the rest of Wednesday.  Read more…

The 5 most obnoxious things from Devin Nunes’s lawsuit against Twitter

TwitterFacebook

Devin Nunes, Republican congressman from California and Trump lapdog, is suing Twitter for a deeply hilarious reason.

The thrust of the Nunes’ lawsuit is that two parody accounts — @DevinNunesMom and @DevinCow — defamed Nunes with the assistance of the third defendant, strategist Liz Mair. Twitter is also named in the suit for just letting it happen. It also mentions “shadow banning,” a false claim frequently made by conservatives on Twitter that the platform suppresses their tweets.

The entire filing is about 40 pages and can be read here, but below is a selection of the parts that made us el oh el the most.  Read more…

‘Sesame Street’ asked Twitter an innocent deserted island question. Things got intense.

TwitterFacebook

If you found yourself marooned on a deserted island, and you could summon one character from Sesame Street, who would it be?

Seems like an innocent question, but one that took an intense turn when posed by the beloved children’s program on Twitter.

Sesame Street‘s social media team put forward the hypothetical, “You’re stuck on a deserted island and you can pick one of these Sesame Street friends to come with you. Who are you picking and why?” and presented the choices of Grover, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and Elmo. Read more…

Devin Nunes wants to sue Twitter over mean tweets from parody account of his mom

California Representative Devin Nunes announced that he will file a $250,000 lawsuit against Twitter, alleging that the company engages in “explicit censorship” and has allowed critics to defame him on the platform. Simultaneously complaining that Twitter silences its critics while asking Twitter to silence his critics is a curious legal strategy, but really it’s par […]

J.K. Rowling’s latest take on Dumbledore’s love life has sparked some very sexual memes

TwitterFacebook

At this point in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, do we really need to know about wizard sex?

J.K. Rowling’s latest take on how Dumbledore and Grindlewald supposedly had an ‘intense love’ and ‘sexual’ relationship feels like another groan-worthy round in a very bad game show — What Will J.K. Rowling Retcon Next?

Every time she hits us with a fake-woke Potterverse fun fact, a phoenix loses one of its feathers. Even for all the galleons and sickles in the world, fans just aren’t buying it.

But Twitter has made it clear that wizard sex is probably at bottom on the list in terms of wizarding world lore we’d like to know about. Read more…
