‘Rick and Morty’ co-creators’ bizarre VR game gets new trailer and release date

TwitterFacebook

The new trailer for Justin Roiland’s upcoming VR game is giving us some serious Interdimensional Cable vibes — but on acid.

Trover Saves the Universe is the Rick and Morty co-creator’s solo project from his newly launched Squanch Games studio. While the plot is hardly the point in this bizarre comedy, the press release mentions saving your dog (and the world) from some asshole named Gorkin.

Does anybody else smell a John Wick crossover?

The trailer also comes with the release date announcement, so you can expect Trover Saves the Universe to be out on May 31 for PS4 and PSVR, then June 4 for PC. Read more…

The Good

Easy to make into a habit • especially with short sessions • Can meditate anywhere you have the headset • Calming and approachable

The Bad

Limited choices that don’t update — after a while you want more than the six options • Doesn’t take full advantage of VR

The Bottom Line

FlowVR is a great place to get comfortable with the idea of meditation — and feels like a mini-vacation.

Audi partners with Disney to entertain car passengers with VR

Audi is getting into the entertainment business — well, sort of…

The car-maker is collaborating with Disney Games and Interactive Experiences this week at CES to demonstrate how a car’s backseat can be more than just a place to hangout while you travel to your final destination.

Using a virtual reality headset in this limited-run experience, passengers could shoot lasers at asteroids and drones, and fly through space with Marvel’s Rocket Raccoon guiding them around.

Iron Man also makes an appearance and flies alongside the car. But this isn’t simply sticking on a headset and pressing play — the VR world matches what’s happening with the car in the real world. If the car turns, so does the rocket ship. You brake suddenly, so does the game.  Read more…
